Sex/porn gone too far? I think so. I don't think it's healthy when little kids are so exposed to sexual content at such a young age. We recently installed a new computer in our house, and my sister and mother had been working on a research paper for school. Since the computer is new and all, not all the parental controls were implimented yet. When my mother and sister searched for Queen Elizebeth, some hyperlinks to pictures were on the site. They browsed for a little while, until BOOM! pornography of naked women started popping up all over the place. My mom went to click the "exit button", but you know how this shit works.
Pop up after pop up kept coming up, and my sister tried turning her head away from the obcene pictures. My mom shut off the computer, and told the whole family that she didn't want us using the computer again until my dad put in the parental protections.
It is my opinion that the porn industry has gone too far. I don't agree with it in the first place, but especially since it practically "owns" the internet now. People spend loads of money on that crap. But not only that, kids under the ages of 10 are exposed to Adult content.
I think we all need a sense of moral and ethics. Before we know it, kids will be doin' it out in the middle in the street! ha, not really, but you get the point. If anything, people should be exposed to sexuality at an older age. Child porn doesn't just mean young kids being naked online; It's also when young kids get exposed to adult porn too early in life.
In this sick world that we live in, many of you might not agree with me. But I would hope that there are people who see the need for the government to place stricter rules for porn available to children.

I agree with you on the fact that exposure to adult content should be an individual's choice, or a parent's choice if the individual is a minor. I agree that a lot of the pop-up adds are very invasive, and should be monitored. At the same time, the internet is basically neutral waters, and (to my knowledge, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), doesn't answer to a specific set of laws. =/
First of all, sex has nothing to do with porn, necessarily.
Second of all, every computer and online service now has the option to block pop-ups. It's easy. Firefox has a good block along with it.
Some people do like pornography. This does not mean that they lack morals or ethics. The idea of that is very closed-minded. Actually, child porn does refer to photographs and movies that sexually exploit children. The fact that children see sexually explicit material is definitely not a good thing, but it does happen in todays media world. Get a pop-up blocker on the computer and parental control, and it's over.
Now that your sister has seen the images, I'm curious to know how it was handled. Was there a discussion about what was happening, about what she saw? I think it would be unhealthy for her, as a future sexual being, to be shameful about sex or feel it's evil. At a young age, to feel that way could carry through her lifetime.
If we were to let the government decide what sexually explicit material is acceptable for Americans to view, where would it stop? We still have a sense of freedom. It isn't the government's responsibility anyway.

Censorship should never be the answer if someone finds something unsavory or too explicit for their tastes. Don't get me wrong, there is some very very sick stuff on the internet (rule 34). trust me you haven't seen the worse of it, and as a parent ( i can't really imagine what that is like, being a teenager) i'm assuming that with all the horrible crap out there, it is getting hard to keep your kids from seeing stuff that they arent old enough to see yet.
However, as much as they seem to, porn and sex do not go hand in hand. Ultimately, since censorship of any kind i can not condone (simply because i do not trust the government, and i definitely believe that if they are allowed to censor even one little thing, they won't stop for the life of us) it leaves it up to the parents to talk to their kids about this stuff. With the times changing, these talks are going to have to change, and probably happen at an earlier age.
Your best bet would be to, as a couple of people have already said, get a good pop-up blocker (firefox has an excellent one) some parental controls, and talks about porn and sex from parents never hurt. Parents may seem old, and out of the times, but even being only an 18 year old, i know that my parents have pretty much seen in their lives everything i can and will see for a few years (times havent changed that much)
luckily, as i've noticed (this isnt based on any study, just my observations)girls are generally less inclined than guys to watch porn so.. yeah
Things don’t work this way, you cannot close up the box that has been opened up!
Porn is bad for kids because they cannot relate to the reality that is behind the graphics they see.
Sex is the number one selling item on the net, there is no way it will ever leave again.
Best way to handle this, is yet again throughout proper education in school, various forms of porn should be explained and viewed in classrooms in order to open up discussions between youngsters in order form them to understand what’s the truth behind porn.
Kids can handle to view this material just fine, it’s the older generations that are freaking out while thinking they can actually build in filters to avoid their kids to be exposed.
Things don’t work this way, the truth always works out best!
To cloud it all with some secrecy that will smack them in the face sooner or later is more damaging than to guide them with information throughout something that has been put in place for reasons we all know
I would like to add that someone has an older brother or sister that does know a little more. The information will get passed around the younger generation, and, like playing telephone, the information will get more and more inaccurate. It is important for parents to talk about sex with their kids, and the whole idea of an abstinence-only sex education program is just ridiculous.Sure, it sounds good, but it's better to educate the kids for realities.

i dont agree that porn should "own" the internet in that way, but i do not think that censoring is the key. Eventually all people will be exposed to ills in society, so the best thing would be to simply explain in an age appropriate way, when the time is right, what the world is really about. let the young people ask questions, so that they can understand. because if you just tell them that porn/or whatever is bad, then you are leaving too much room for their imagination.
and in the end most likely they will seek to understand on their own. That when there is a problem
No industry, person, or group "owns" the internet. The fact is, according to the original blog, someone clicked on something that brought out a lot of porn pop-ups. You are so right though, a parent definitely has to discuss this situation in an age-appropriate manner. If the parents don't, it doesn't mean the child will forget. The danger is where the child will find information.

About the pop ups. I don't think that's the porn industry putting that on your computer. Usually when pron just pops up all of a sudden, it's actually a company trying to scam you to get your money. What will happen is porn pops up on your computer, a few days later some sort of ad will come up on your desktop saying that there may be sexually explicit on your computer. It will tell you to download some kind of spam blocker to get rid of the stuff. But in actuality, the company offering you the protection are the same people who put the porn on your computer in the first place. The goal is that you will buy their pop up blockers to protect your computer. This happened on my computer twice and I finally realized what was happening.
NO, we do not need the government to put stricter controls on the internet. Don't take my porn away to protect the little kids. Anyone can put their own blocks on their computer.

Couple of things...First of all, Wombels said something to the effect that children should be exposed to porn and its types in school. ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is basically giving up on the idea that our society could be collectively moral. Sure, people have urges but educating children about porn is pushing them more towards it and thinking that it is acceptable.
Also, Meke said that spam blockers give you the porn pop-ups. This is also untrue, as long as the spam business is a legitimate business. Check it out with the Better Business Bureau before you buy these anti-virus, anti-spamware, etc. products. I can assure you that Norton Anti-Virus or any of those big names aren't conspiring to show you porn so you are disgusted and turn to them.

It is not about morality, myself like many other care less about so called morals, the reason why I wrote what I wrote “is” about common sense in order to (guide) safeguard our offspring, not with a fire weapon, dog or baseball bat!
IT needs to be sort out throughout education only, so to keep the good urges alive and kicking!
Porn is just a label which carries wrong labels of interpretation, what’s more funny to see a dog humping one’s leg, not because of the dog, but the embarrassment it can evoke to some that are confused within their own ridiculous morals,
I do understand your points, but it’s important to take it, or see small amount of words in a WIDER perspective!
Question what I wrote down instead of writhing, ABSOLUTELY NOT can be cool too!
$ex is the number one drive (state of mind) pursued by males because of various reasons, many of these reasons are hardly understood and therefore (still) around to cause hurt and trauma randomly.
The random fact along is causing enough stress for many to become the trauma which randomly enters our lives like bad music hardly understood.
I can easily bring enlightenment about these reasons, but I rather do this in private, If ever would wish me to do so,
It is common sense and not moral which presents me the true realities which surround my daily life. Not being ignorant, many others carry a more than fine understanding of what’s cooking down below.
To understand this makes one to grasp the reality morals carried around are nothing more than urges of whishes never fulfilled.
Because of that reason we have a law system to deal with the misfortunes of whishes (un)fulfilled.
For people to accept the fact our offspring is facing a constant threat of being inflicted with trauma because of whishes some carry while wondering the streets, is like shit (diarrhea) hitting or better say breaking the fan!
Let’s break this open,
Many girls love porn, when I say love it, I mean they enjoy it (deeply) emotionally, sadly enough, continuously women get labeled by morals that are worth shit and bring them nothing but negativity, pushed upon them by (frustrated) males, males being the very root and cause of enforcing their urges inside places in which no one belongs!
Some even $ to get their urges, prostitutes being the best (drug) medicine for those too embarrassed of fulfilling needs of their own at home, not willing to get level in communication, what kind of a male hood is that, lol!
Education is the key!
Many women should write an e-mail to their husband which ends with:
Your (soon_to_be_ex) Wife,
“Giving up on the idea that our society could be collectively moral”…
This will only happen when people stay narrow minded alongside their lived generation, basically every year or less is a good time to open up awareness in order to avoid this to occur,
For people to start seeing all children around as their own might be a good step to bring and create awareness about the importance of common sense in this world we share.
We could discuss this deeper, it’s actually easy to bring to life, tomorrows reality that is!
Urges are always easy to mould for them to become and remain acceptable for all!
Don't take my porn away to protect the little kids….lol

I recently wrote a blog about sex education and am interested to hear other viewpoints. Please read it and comment. http://www.progressiveu.org/171241-comprehensive-sex-ed-should-we-be-tea.... Thanks.
I hate those pop-ups! They always seem to start coming at the most inopportune times or in front of people who you definitely do not want seeing it pop up.
They are so bad, but they are getting better. I use to get beastiality pop ups and now they are basically normal porn.
But my google toolbar blocks every one for me so that is a plus
http://www.progressiveu.org/blog/nharris1032
The more porn sites one visits, the more pop ups one can expect to manifest itself upon the screen of truth!
Pop ups containing bestiality come straight from the
dungeon of the extreme sex underworld!
Bestiality, gives REAL porn a bad reputation!
To cancel any of the running subscriptions should be enough, for those bestiality pop ups to end!
Good luck,
