I really hate it when people only comment about my spelling. Sometimes i just get in the groove and type away for over 30 minutes and I just type and type and forget about my spelling, and sometimes I just make mistakes or have a brain fart and screw up a spelling on something I deffinatly know. like the second last word in the that last sentence. i just had a brain fart. but I think its very rude for one person to comment on it, and then everybody else to comment on it after. or worse i wrote a blog about guys sucking and I also asked for advice I got advice but a ton of people also commented on my spelling mistake, and then some smart a** wrote on why the guy doesnt like me is because "maybe he doesnt like stupid girls." now I'm sorry but its one thing for one person to point out a mistake, but its another thing for everybody to say something about it and then to go making rude comments!

Hi JK,
Many of us will point out spelling errors because it makes a big difference in how many people pay attention to your blog. I've been here for about a year and a half now and can attest that those who run a quick spell check prior to posting get more reads and thus generate more discussion than those who post without checking spelling. We don't point it out to pick on your or to be rude, but because it's difficult for many of us to actually read through a blog that is riddled with spelling errors. As a side note, for us moderators, pointing out things that will help you better succeed at ProgressiveU, including spelling and grammar, is part of what we do as moderators.
I'm not sure what browser you use, but Firefox has a spell checker that you can add-on. It checks spelling for everything typed in the browser and underlines incorrect spellings with a red line so you can correct them. You can also send blog posts to one of the moderators for correction before posting, or even for help after it has been posted.
