After reading this newsarticle from http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=local&id=5131825. I began to think about the racial slurs that I hear on television and see in public. You know, everytime I see this I laughed because I used to think calling each other derogatory names was ok. I mean, I see this sort of thing happen all the time, and it is so common to me that if I were to protest, I would run myself tired. But, now I am starting to feel as if I must change my stance. I noticed one thing: if it not affecting a certain person that certain person does not care about an issue. Since I am not being called those names, why should I bother? In addition, I notice how I can tell my mother I do not love her or I hate her when I got mad, but if someone else talks bad about my mother, I am ready to fight that person. What is a matter with this picture? It is time for a change. A change in which we all try to understand each other and there is no more bickering or derogatory words. I know I am just dreaming when I say this, but a person can dream, right? Atleast, think about some of things that you and others say. Hopefully, people will think about how they would feel if what they do to others was done to them. Maybe, then a change can truely happen and we can learn to accept and respect each other, regardless of our differences.
Derogatory Words

It's a fool's dream really. While it is ideal to have everyone set their differences aside and live peacefully; it's not gonna happen for a LONG time. Just look at the 803 hate groups living in America. People are always going to have something to say something offensive to each other, and there is nothing to really prevent that.
