so i had a philosophy project for my midterm grade....this was the basis of my project:
- list the qualities of a good friend
- rank order those qualities (list from 1 to 5: one the most important, five least important...)
- make objections to those qualities, (are they neccessary, sufficient, or in the proper order)
- make an argument to defend your reasoning on the rank order of the qualities.
out of the many things friends can be to a person, what do you think is the most important quality that a friend should have? On my groups list we had :trustworthy, respectful, responsible, positive, and supportive. (in no particular order...)
i know that personality was brought up in our presentation, why it was not on the list. But we picked qualities of a good friend, a personality is not a quality to me. Its a frame of mind.
so what should the order be? what is most important to you? what is the least important? are there some we are missing? are there some that should be taken off the list?

I think that is a pretty good list, however, I think you are missing loyalty. I know that's what I look for in a friend, especially since it is a quality that is getting harder and harder to find out there in the world. Gossip is mighty hard to resist, and a friend who does is a true friend. It proves that they are trustworthy as well as respective.

I would say honesty, loyalty, responsibility, optimism, and thrfty. I personally am a very distrusting person, but I respect people who show these qualities. By the way,I like your project, good luck with it.
