Hello! I'm Megan. Since I am new to ProgressiveU, I thought I'd post a little introductory blog. I will probably read a lot more blogs before I actually post so I get used to the site.
I am sixteen and a high school junior. I am taking AP US History this year, so I will probably blog a lot about the issues discussed in that class. My teacher tends to get distracted with talk of recent politics. Ask what a super delegate is and she'll talk the whole period about the Democratic race.
Also, for my English research paper, I chose to study the use of Depo Provera for rehabilitating sex offenders. More so the ethical aspect. If anyone knows of any good sites to pull information from, that would be great! Though I doubt it. This is kind of an old issue and not very well known. (And for anyone curious about my take on the matter, I generally think its use is ethical, considering sex offenders must consent to it, but I find myself debating, well, myself.)
For anyone wondering what this "Depo Provera" thing is, Depo Provera is a birth control shot that may be used to suppress the male sex drive. This process may be referred to as "chemical castration", which I admit has bad connotations, but the sex drive comes back after discontinuation of Depo Provera. There are other factors involved in the ethical dilemma, but I'll have to research those.

When coming up with a Blog title, it helps to pick something catchier than "blog post one." For example "Depo, what's that?" would have been more interesting. I read everything, but not everyone is that nice. :)X
