SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE. As editor-in-Chief of my high school yearbook, I was faced with the challenge of deciding on a theme for this years yearbook. After many long days of brainstorming, I decided on "Songs in the Key of Life" which is the name of an album by Stevie Wonder. I want this yearbook to be based on music’s immense influence on our lives. Though there are millions of different songs and artists, music is something that everyone can relate to. We may not like the same type of music, but we can all agree that music is a big part of our lives. It can help you get through your first heartbreak or get pumped up for a big event. There is a different type of music for every mood and emotion that you could possibly go through. For the theme this year, I wanted to focus on the message that the song is trying to portray and the words that the artist is saying, along with the effect that the song has on your life. Every once in a while you hear a song on the radio that you haven’t heard in years, but all of a sudden you remember what you were doing during the period of time when you first heard that song. Music has a huge influence on our lives in this way. If you have any thoughts or suggestions about this theme, please let me know. i would love to hear what you have to say. Also, let me know if you have any examples of how music or certain artists/songs effect your life.

I think music is really key to our life, but it seems to me that music is beginning just to be a background buzz, and by that i mean people are so "plugged in" listening to their ipods or something they couldnt even tell u the words to the songs or wat message is being conveyed
im lovin the theme for ur yearbook. i love music myself, and i wish someone would have thought of something like that as a theme for my school's yearbook because its new and original. i agree with ur point that music can help us get thru anything. i was watching 7th heaven the other day, and the whole theme of the episode was how music has healing properties and how almost all genres of music are related somehow. ur comment about how hearing an old song on the radio reminds u of what u were doing at the time the song was popular is true. im listening to "rock the boat" by aaliyah right now, and i can think back to living in jersey, and when i found out she died, and the things i used to do when i was in middle school. i dont know what types of music u like, but if u like r&b, there is a song called "radio" by lyfe jennings on his new album "the phoenix." i think u would really like it because it kind of relates to music being a big influence on our lives and how music has healing properties.
