High School, SAT's, ACT's, Scholarships, and two daughters. Yes at age 17 I became the mother of two beautiful girls, age 2 and 8. My Senior year of High School was anything but ordinary. Between taking AP classes and preparing for college and caring for two children I was exhausted by the end of the day. Instead of going to my Senior Homecoming I went to the park and chased around my daughters. To me it was more important to spend time with them than to go to a dance. They needed a mother in their life. At such a young age you need someone there to care for you. Imagine yourself being 3 years old and not having someone tell you "I Love You" and kiss you good night. I worked part-time to be able to afford their necessities. Lucky for me their grandmother would watch them while I was at work. Instead of going out with my friends on Saturday nights I would take my girls to the movies. Sometimes we would go bowling or to the lake to feed the ducks. On Monday mornings I would talk about what I did with my daughters. Everyone else would talk about the party they went to or the action movie they saw. But not me. I was the only one who talked about something different. The weekend of my Senior Prom I was at home with my daughters cuddled up in our bed watching a movie. I wouldn't have changed that moment for the world. My daughters supported me going to school. In the mornings they would help me get my things together. They always made sure I had everything. The truth is I graduated just for them. I can proudly say I graduated with High Honors, 34th out of 250 in my class. My daughters are everything to me. I love them very much. And now 3 years later we are all happy; myself, my daughters, and my husband (their father).

...Why were you a parent of 2 at 17? Isn't that illegal?

no its not illegal if we lived with their grandmother. I wasnt the legal guardian but i was the one that took care of them since the grandmother couldn't work.
Ah. I remain in the dark, to quote S.Beckett.

From what I understood she married at age 17 (???) to someone who already had two daughters, aged 3 and 8? Because she said she "became" a mother to them so she obviously didn't give birth to them (at age nine? Nah).
Or her parents died and she was the oldest of three...

She'd still be their sister though, not their mother. She wouldn't adopt them with her husband and raise them as her children. O.o
She might have.

that's what i gathered, too.

I don't think it's illegal, period. I was on my own at that age. You just have to be sure to pay your bills on time because since you're under 18 you can't be sued. Where I live, utility companies cannot deny service to anybody, but they can cut off service the moment the bill is late if you're under 18.

I just looked at your user name and about died laughing. DSanchez (provided that's not a real name) is hilarious. Mostly because I've got a dirty mind.

HAHA! I made that connection as well, then scolded myself for letting my 4th grade side show through again. :))
