We don’t dance enough. We had homecoming and danced all night it was such a blast. We weren’t ready to stop dancing after the dance was officially over. I was talking to Mitch he said “it was so fun dancing with you” My reply was “I wish we danced more often” He declared that we should dance right now this very second so we did.  We moved the dance party to a friend’s house. We put on a mix cd and danced for a really long time to all different types of songs. It was so fun normally we just veg out in front of a TV. or computer screen. Teens used to dance all the time – why have we stopped? Have you noticed that kids today just don’t dance like they used to? Are we too self conscious or what? It’s tons of fun I can’t believe how much fun it was. I hope we keep dancing.

I totally agree with you! I'm actually a recovering ballerina. I dislocated my right knee and broke my left foot at the end of my senior year of high school. My knee didn't heal right and I started suffering from arthritis. By the time I got to college, I had missed all the auditions for dance groups and then my mom stopped paying for school and I transferred and now I can't afford dance lessons.

I admire that you want to dance more and that you are aware of the self consciousness that so many people have today. I will tell you to throw away your inhibitions and dance... and for extra points, dance in the rain!

Amen! Everyone should dance like nobody is watching.

I remember that, right after the premiere of Hairspray, my crazy friends and I were outside of the theater and we were singing the songs and trying to mimic the awesome moves (the egg-beater is actually a lot harder than everyone makes it look...). It felt so amazing to let go of all inhibitions and dance to your own laughter. It also helps if all of your friends are as free-spirited as you are...

A wasted day is a day without dancing. So, DANCE!
