Poverty around the world

americans are hated by so many people around the world, do you wanna no why? its because we're considered "rich." people are always inclined to hate the rich, i know i am. lets say your on a public sports team, you have a game to play, and your opponents are a bunch of rich kids from a prep school. it inspires anger in you, you play harder because you want to win so you can have something they don't, victory. in a metaphoric kind a way, thats what the world is thinking.

some of you might say, "oh i'm not rich, i don't even have wireless internet," or something like that. did you know, if you live in a building with a roof over head, running water, and gas, your richer than 85% of the worlds population. wow thats fricken crazy.

now you now why people hate us, there might be other minor reasons people hate us, like we sticking a military base right in their back yard or something, but this is the major reason. we have everything they would ever want, now realize, that i saw want. because they are most jealous or greedy. they dont need what we have. they want it.

let me differ need and want. a need is something critical to survival and a want is something not critical to survival. now, there are some cases where people really do need something we have, like water, but im sure they really dont care about us, there to busy worried about their survival.

Although we are the richest, we are slowly becoming less so. Our dollar is becoming weaker and that is why america is growing more and more afraid of theChina. China by the way doesn't hate us because we borrow so much money from them all the time that we virtually owe them our national debt. as well as we by anything they'll make for less. We're feeding them. Although you are righ that some of the world does hate us, but i don't think money is the main cause.

anyway, we fear china because we are used to having power and its being taken away, give an example of why some one might hate us outside of what i stated so we can further our debate

"To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing."

I think that the hatred towards America is engendered more by contempt and disgust rather than jealousy. Our capitalistic society is so decadent -- we have so much, but we keep wanting more. Never are we satisifed with the cars we drive, the TVs we own, or any other such modern age luxuries. We are so focused on ourselves these days it is rare that anyone decides to open up their eyes and see for themselves what is going on around them. It is easy for us to speak of poverty lightly because many of us in America have not experienced it first hand. We may see a lone beggar on the streets, but that's it. In India or inner China, shacks line the streets and nearly everyone is suffering from hunger. Yet the people share with each other, despite the little they have. The poor understand suffering as we cannot. I find it amazing, and disgusting, how we are so wealthy, and yet so many people are unwilling to donate to charity or do something good for humanity even though it is within their full power and capacity to do so. Instead, we lavish money on more and more extravagant things.

i totally agree with that, and its quite interesting. people who are born into a poorer family learn how to cooperate and love each other, when you look at a rich family, most of the time no one gets along and everyone avoids each other.
