I told myself I wasn't going to blog today, because I really don't need a blog everyday. But after trying and trying to resist and reading these posts about movies, and almost commenting before realizing they were a few days away from a birthday, I can't help myself.
Movies, I love them. They are my future, I dream to become a screenwritter, It will be my major next year when I start college.
But anyway, back to the point. Are Movies going down the drain?
I know for a fact that I feel like I've blown nearly $10 bucks to watch the 2 hour extended version of the trailor for a movie. Seriously! I saw the whole thing in 30 seconds, and wasted 2 hours of my life sitting on my butt in a dark theature, waiting for something to happen.
Case in point, I never saw "The Brave One," Because I can tell you what happens for free. She and her husband/boyfriend/fieance get mugged and he steals her dog. She is pissed, recovers and wants to be justice. Goes out and kills bad guys. Finds her dog, probably shoots her attacker, all the while the cop who she is working with to find her attacker, is on to her, but knows he will eventually have to arrest her, even if technechally it's a good thing.
Tell me if I'm right and how it ends, cus I'm not going to waste nearly 2 hrs. plus previews and 10 bucks to find out.
Next movie topic to rant about, Happy endings... case and point, 1408. In my humble and honest opinion, I believe that the John Cusack character would have been thought more heroic, in my mind, if he would have died when the gas-exploded. But who would have wrote the book?? The manager of the hotel could have wrote something up if he wanted to, the publisher even, the ending could have been something along the lines of "Believe what you want about Room 1408, but it has taken ____ lives, and has taken its last.
The movie was seriously pretty good, then pissed me off when he woke up from the "surfing accident," got good again when it was just the room, the pissed me off again when he heard his daughters voice on the recorder. I don't know what to say, other than I would have bought the DVD if it would have ended differently.
I'm sure I could go on and on forever about numerous topics, but I actually have to get up and go to school tomorrow, coming off of three consecutive cancelled days.
Opinions are welcome, I will take them to heart.

I understand where you're coming from, and you seem to have a huge experience about movies, since I almost never waste my time watching trailers of movies (but maybe that's just me).
Though isn't that just your opinion? You can tell what could happen in movies you've never seen (like your example of The Brave One) but that's only because you are intelligent enough to compare those types of movies to other movies in the same genre. Many people aren't as intelligent as you are, or as experienced as you are and they can't tell what will happen while watching the movie or trailer, and some do know but hope to see a different ending, while some love those types of movies and hope to see what you're calling a trend or cliché.
In year thousands (maybe that's too much, maybe hundreds) of movies get released throughout the year, while some excel, and become original, some don't. You see the ones that don't, usually won't win any awards and usually get bad critic reviews. Those movies might have been released 10-30 years ago, and could have done much better with the critics/you because you haven't seen their kind before.
I agree that they should stop producing parody movies (Meet the Spartans, Scary Movie, etc) since they are pushing it a bit too far. I mean Scary Movie1-3 were good, but they are just ruining the whole parody movie idea, and I don't think that I can watch another movie like that for at least 10 years.
My point is that humans are running out of ideas, and can't produce something original every day, and that's not their fault, they are only humans living with used ideas. Besides, being experienced in movies is its own fault for not enjoying movies any more, since you're used to the older ideas for movies. I mean if you haven't thought about making movies, and I have asked you to create 10 original ideas for movies (assuming you haven't thought of them beforehand) do you think that you can name 3? If so then why are you not making millions off of these ideas?
I love your comment.
And yes, you right it is my opinion, and I've probably seen way to many movies.
I'd just like to see something out of the norm, that doesn't go along with the genres.
The thing with genres is, we all have expectations about the storylines, the characters, and the ending.
And I compleatly agree with you on the parody movies. I can't stand them anymore, they've just become rediculous.
Give me some brainstorming time and I bet I could come up with ten ideas. The problem is I'm just a high school who nobody takes to seriously. Not to mention, Iowa isn't really known for the movie atmosphere.
And I agree, humans are running out of idea, but the same ideas such as the parodys, and what not, seem to bring in the crowd... It's all about who will fork out the cash to see junk.
