Perfection
noun

1. the state of being without a flaw or defect
2. an ideal instance; a perfect embodiment of a concept
3. the act of making something perfect

Right. The state of being without flaw or defect. How strange would that be? "Hi, My name is Elise and I am without flaw or defect." (Not that you would generally introduce yourself like that, but for real. What if you were perfect? What if you were flawless?

Rememer back in Junior High when there was always that one girl who was flawless in everyones eyes? Everybody knew her name, every girl wanted to be her, every guy wanted to date her. Her hair was always gorgeous and she had the best smile. She, of course, was so nice, had a 4.0 and was dating the most desirable guy in the entire school. There was absolutely nothing wrong with her. Didn't you always want to be that girl?

Who wouldn't like to be perfect? The perfect friends, the perfect hair, the perfect body, the perfect job, the perfect family, the perfect life. Doesn't that sound so glamorous? Likely it does. So what if you were perfect? Life wouldn't be any fun at all. You would be so busy being perfect all the time you'd never have time to enjoy yourself. You'd have the perfect boyfriend, and you two would be perfectly in love, sure. But, what is love without it's imperfections? How can you grow and learn together without making mistakes? So you'd be perfect, but you wouldn't progress in your relationship at all. Having the perfect job would mean not ever needing a new job, not ever changing. Even though the job was perfect and wonderful, wouldn't you get sick of the exact same routine every day of your life? And having to always do your homework perfect. You'd never learn anything because you'd never do anything wrong, you wouldn't grow, you wouldn't progress, you wouldn't be happy.

So, only through imperfection can you find true happiness. True love found in your imperfect companion. Growing and learning through making mistakes. I think I'm perfectly happy with being imperfect.
