The Gilded

The Gilded

Gold leaf lives and ignorant ears
Versace eyes and MasterCard tears
Blank faces and dull gray skies
Voiceless songs and bitter lies.

If only they could hear
And listen
Spread to its airy thinness,
Gucci reigns supreme.

The world is lifeless, ancient
Pack the Prada bags and flee
From earnest, truthful discourse.

Speaking of people
Of things
Ideas are buried
And the light grows dim
Each day, dimmer
With each golden glimmer
Of a Dulce & Gabbana smile.

Cracked and cold,
Melt the gold
And know it is not pure.

A lot of people that go to my school should read this. They think they're golden with what they think is beauty.
