Yeah, so my senior prom was a couple days ago. It was a good time but not really what I expected. I went with a really good friend who I can usually talk with for hours but at prom we had these weird silent moments. Maybe dancing just isn't his thing. I guess it was just a let down because I spent all the effort and heard everyone say it is like the best night of your life to find out it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun time and I'm glad I went but the hype was just a little much.
What does everyone else think? Is prom a little overated or no?

I don't know about overrated, but I know it's expensive.
Yeah, it's really expensive. I'm glad I only went one year and not two or more. Although if you have rich parents it like some people I know it's not as big of an issue.
well my prom is next wednesday. Maybe it was just who you went with. I know that my boyfriend feels uncomfortable dancing...well it just isnt really his thing either. So if I make him do something he doesnt like the whole night he wont have as much fun which will bring down my level of enjoyment also...but yes it is very very expensive...I still cannot wait!
it's all on you to make the experience the time of your life. on my part is the best night of my life SO FAR, as in senior year coming to an end why not go out with a bang rather than salutations and regrets. make the most of it and don't linger in the past, live in the moment =P,
I know how you feel, except I went with a guy I hadn't known for a long time and we danced a lot but it wasn't really diffrent than the dances we had in our gym. The only thing that set it apart was how much money I spent. After prom is always more fun than prom. My two best friends just met me there and didn't even bother going to prom.

prom is overrated. you spend sooo much money and for what? one dance and food that really doesn't taste that great. i mean the after parties are so much funner and so much cheaper.
