I have not attended a Broadway show in six years minimum. Today I went to see The LIon King on "Broadway" or 45th Street, same idea. The show was amazing, its not very easy to adapt a cartoon about savanah animals to the stage but they did well. The best scene in my opinion was of the baboon and the simba lion, the song was about the legacy of his father's death, of his father living within him. What is left after someone dies ? A memory, a thought , a lifetime of achievement or even failures? The irony of it all is my acquiatance, who we'll call G, recieved a text message on our way out the door. His acquiatance, well call her , B had suddenly died of an overdose. As high school seniors graduating in a number of days it was rather quite tragic. So what remains of B in our world, what is B's legacy ? I believe memories of her as a wholesome person will outweigh the tragic end of her life, but since this is so recent and sensitive well leave details for some other time.
Time fascinates me so. On the train today a son and mother were fighting over the father's impeding alcoholism. Its fascinating to me how time warps perspective and values, let alone wisdom and faith. She denied the problem, denied he needed help, that as long as she'd known him he'd never had a problem. His views were rehab or death, all or nothing. He was headstrong, set on an ultimatum but she wouldnt budge either. I feel like its none of my business but the whole thing was so thought provoking. I hope they come to a resolution because its not worth the severed ties, trust me, its just not.
I find time parallels forgiveness, which parallels regret. That reminds me of a Bayside lyrics : "Sometimes contempt leads to sadness, sadness leads to contempt. Contempt leads to the present tense."
Sometimes I feel like lyrics describe me, its just easier than trying to with words. Gee, my blogs are coherent, Anyway B died a horrible death for a teenage girl about to graduate and I hope time will heal the way her loved ones remember her. This life is a demented dynamic.

The first brush with mortality is often difficult. It doesn't seem to make sense, especially when the death is so senseless.
