Sure this horse has been beaten to death but I decided to kick it in the rear one last time.
Faith is something we believe it doesn’t necessarily means a religion it can mean having faith anything. Everyone has faith in something. You can have faith in science, yourself, the person you love, or many other things.
It could be classified as a feeling, emotion, or a way of conscious whatever you want to call it. Is faith real because we can feel it, like we feel a sense of peace, or happiness or joy, I think so but it's much stronger than that. But the problem arises when people have faith in something they others don’t and no matter how hard you try to convince this person otherwise it seems they are stuck in their ways until they make that decision to lose the faith of move it to something else.
Just because you have faith in some does it make it true? Or course not, well not ultimately. I think that when you believe something that’s based purely on faith, it is true to you. Your sense of self is telling you something different from maybe the guy sitting next to you. Why? I think it’s based on experiences, life in general. We all go thorough it, the joy and pain, and wow what was I thinking moment. I believe that life is a series of cause and effect relations, and every once in a while your action might effect someone else without knowing.
My point of that last sentence is when we go though our own unique life experiences it can trigger different emotions in everyone. I believe that faith kicks in when you might be searching for comfort, or to give some people a sense of purpose in life. To believe something we might or might not know it exists logically, but faith blocks that out of people’s minds a lot of the time I think. It makes our sense of self believe what we tell ourselves or what we perceive to be as a sign to do certain things. When that happens it grabs on to you consciousness and in some cases takes you over.
Or faith could be when you are cheering on someone you love, and that you believe with all you heart that they can do whatever their desired goal is. Or it could be you could have faith that someday, science will be able to proof even the most perplexing questions.
Like I stated earlier you cannot prove that someone has faith in something (well unless they tell you, lol) just like you cannot prove that the thing you have faith in exists or has the ability of doing what you think it has the ability of doing.
Besides the emotional triggers it can set off it can bring many problems. This is when people let their faith overtake their common sense. Yes that’s right, common sense. Sometimes in some people faith overpowers their logic or it might sometime intertwine and when they try to convince the outside world of what they have faith in what they believe is true it can cause some tension. I believe this is because first this person is confused why they wouldn’t feel the same way they do and vise versa. Second, if people aren’t careful their faith can bring out certain unwanted emotions and turn into anger or frustration.
Have faith in whatever makes you happy or whatever you believe is fine. But don’t let it render your common sense. Don’t let it render your judgment, realize that every person has a unique life experience that shapes their individuals beliefs and goals and it would be in the best of everyone’s interest if we all realized that. So my point is that I believe faith is real just as much as love or pain or joy is. But you cannot prove ones existence or being or goals just based on faith. God is based on a system of faith you cannot ultimately prove god exists, to you it does because you have faith in it and you can’t make anyone else have faith in your goals unless they want to. Or another example if I have faith that my team is going to win, but the other person doesn’t I can’t force them, but then again I’m not going to yell and scream and punch the guy out you know?
As far as myself I don’t like to dwell on the little things in life ;)
I’m not sure if I made a lot of sense here, but I was just think about some things and decided to write about it. Thanks for reading anyway please comment :)

To me faith is something that I believe with my whole heart. Personally I believe in God, but I also believe in Science. I don't think that since I have faith in something. That is makes it true for everyone. I never try and push my views on others, just because I believe it doesn't mean it's right.
I think everyone has faith in something. It's not always a higher power or a "scientific fact". Like you said people will have faith in what they believe is true.
-Matt
Faith is : a force (power)
Faith is not a feeling but a conviction and belief.
Fear is believing something has the power to harm you and therefore this is faith as well. Faith can be positive or negative.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen.
Faith can be diluted by doubt. When faith is diluted, it is not as powerful.
