This is an easy topic for me only because my mother is a lesbian. Many people say that gay marriage is wrong because "god" made us humans to have one male and one female in a relationship, not two females or two males. However its not so much about religion, its really about personal freedom and being able to marry the person you love whether they are the same sex or not. Everyone says that the government is not based on religion, well if its not then gay marriage should not be a problem. I believe that people should have the right to marry any sex they choose. I see my mother and her girlfriend everyday of my life and they are no different then any other couple in this world besides the fact that they are two women in love. Because of laws against gay marriage they cannot marry. I find this situation obsurd and do not believe in keeping homosexuals from marrying the same sex.

I recently met a gay couple from Massachusetts and they're married! I thought it was great. The whole idea that there's a separation between church and state is a crock! I wish it were so but it isn't.

Gay marriage is the final step down a long road America has already traveled toward deinstitutionalizing, denuding and privatizing marriage. It would set in legal stone some of the most destructive ideas of the sexual revolution: There are no differences between men and women that matter, marriage has nothing to do with procreation, children do not really need mothers and fathers, the diverse family forms adults choose are all equally good for children. What happens in my heart is that I know the difference. Don't confuse my people, who have been the victims of deliberate family destruction, by giving them another definition of marriage."
