I don't know if you have heard of the movie Sikko, but if you haven't it's a must see. It's not a chick flick or horror movie it's an instructional video about the health care system in the United states. It talks about how more than half of the American population has no insurance and how a lot of people don’t have enough money to see a doctor. It show real cases where a man cut off accidentally his two finger and had to pick one of them to be fixed because the price for them where one for $10,000 or the middle finger for $25,000 take a guess which finger he picked. It also introduces you to an old married couple that loss their house and had to move in with their children because they couldn't afford al the co-payment the had to make for the medicine, and they had insurance. Here you learn that in this country people can't afford to get sick because, they would have to pay a lot of money. It's really sad that most of us in today's society can't stand up for our-selves and tell our government we want free healthcare. This not being only for ourselves but for future generations, because if you come from a middle income family in today's society you can't afford a doctor. Take it from me my mother hasn't been to a doctor in almost 3 years. Her last time was when she had my baby sister who is now 3 years old. My mother-in-law is another one who hasn't been to the doctor for 5 years. This proving my point we need FREE HEALTHCARE. All this make me sad and sick of this world we are living on where we put a price on a person’s health or worse yet a life! Please look it up I know you could even watch it online for free, do it it’s only 45 minutes and it tells you the reality of the life we are living.
Tell me your opinion i want ot HEaR them and yes share your stories with me i will be delighted!
-Since i got those comment i wonder if my idea was understood, i just want to prove the point that helthcare in today's society ins't affordable, I don't care if they make it free or afordable, i just ache for a change on the one we have now. Altough free healthcare would be best it's true we have to be realistics.

I tend to have a little bit of skepticism in believing people who base their arguments off of works by Michael Moore.

Wouldn't you agree that our healthcare system is putting a price on people's lives or you think like those who I have spoken to. Those that say that in America you don't have to wait to be seen. This would be because you have money, but middle income families don't have this. Like my family, i don't base my article on Michel Moore's ideas, but on the fact of how am living. I just put this there in order for people to see how life for those families turn out. I have my own opinion which in fact has to do with all those around me who can’t receive healthcare and can’t have check-ups because they don’t have the money for insurance, it’s weather their house where they take care of the family and make sure their children are safe or their health guess what my parent chose their children, like most parents would.

Um, actually...

I don't "have the money" to be seen immediately. I pay a small amount from my paycheck each month for my health insurance from work and if I need to go to the doctor, I pay a co-pay and wait my short amount of time like anyone else.

Not everyone can get health care through work, and that's understandable. But let's see...

Most middle class people do get healthcare from work. If they didn't work at a job that offered health care, they probably wouldn't be considered "Middle Class." the "Upper Class" have no problems; whether they get health care from work, from an outside carrier, or just pay their hospital bills on a case by case basis, they always have the means to be seen and pay for it.

Then we have the lower-class. Now, I can be considered lower-class with the amount I make every year, but I still get health care from work.

It wasn't always like this, though. My parents don't make much money at all. But we always got taken care of, even if we had to go through community health care.

My dad was recently in the hospital for a possible heart attack and spent 3 days there. He doesn't have health insurance. He didn't have to wait to be seen. He was able to finance it so he can pay his care off slowly.

Oh, and guess what? The hospital he went to was a Catholic one (Saint Joseph's, a huge hospital around here...) and they're offering to pay it from donations they get for those who can't necessarily afford their care.

Hm. Imagine that.

Free Healthcare would be nice, but it isn't realistic. I like Micheal Moore, I agree with some of what he says but... free Healthcare? Is that really possible? Maybe more affordable Healthcare... but not free.
