Lieberman loses to Lamont; new party now...Independent Democrat

Lieberman conceded to Lamont.  He announced he intends to file as an independent Democrat first thing tomorrow morning.

In an interesting comment about "partisanship" Lieberman scolded DC for its excessive partisanship.  Can you say hypocrisy?  This is a man who has let this president block out members of the opposition party from key meetings.

Ned Lamont says, "Drinks are on me.  Tonight we voted for a  BIG change!" to a crowd of boisterous supporters."Stay the course is not a winning strategy in Iraq and it's not a winning strategy in America! We have a government in DC that's making a lot of bad choices.  But families still dream of a land of opportunity.  With your help this evening we're going to start making those dreams come true."

63 lobbyist for every Congressman in DC!  Wow!  It's time to fix Congress and fight for the common good.

WE need to bring our troops home to a HEROS WELCOME.  It's time we fixed Bush's failed foreign policy.  As a Senator, I will make sure our military stays strong, but I'll make sure we stay true to our values.

I'll try to hook up to the speech later.  In the meantime you're stuck with my notes.

I'm very inspired by Lamont's speech.  It was not full of anger as Liebermans was but instead sent words of hope and action for Americans!

Now, it's time to kick the rest of the Republicans and their lobbyists and the corporatists out of DC!  End the K-street Project and get us a Congress that does it's job instead of a do-nothing-Republican majority Congress that uses hate and anger to inspire loyalty.

It's time for national healthcare.  It's time for jobs in America again.  It's time for people above lobbies.  EIther stip up for the average American citizen or get out of our way.  We're taking our country back!

Yes, Ned Lamont, it's time for change! It's not only time for national healthcare, but it's high time for federal tax reform! Congress just can't fix our complex, confusing and oppressive tax code, it needs to be replaced. The FairTax Bill (S.25) should be considered the way to do it! Give your support to the FairTax (www.fairtax.org) and you have a great chance to gain many additional votes in November! It's not only good for Connecticut but it's good for all Americans. It's the "American Dream"! Robert J. Ransom, Jr.-ChFC Chartered Financial Consultant (Retired)
