DO NOT read this if you do not want to hear what the movie is about! First I would like to start out by saying that the movie Sweeny Todd is just plain out AMAZING! If you have not seen it then it is definatly one to put on your movie list! The acting and the movie definatly deserved the Golden Globe awards that it got! The graphics were great and Tim Burton did an AMAZING job at directing the magnificent movie. But what about the actual character? I am not sure if this was a true story but you would think that it would be. It is certainly possible. I mean, cannabalism has happened in the past. Anyways, could a man really hate someone that much that he would not only kill the people that did him harm but he would kill innocent men as well. I mean, he had every right to be that angry. Judge Turbine took away his life practicaly. He threw him into prison on a false charge then he raped his wife. The wife poisoned herself and went crazy. Then the terrible judge locked his daughter away so that one day he could rape her as well. Though, he wanted to marry her but she refused. If you have seen the movie or heard the tale then you can see how deranged Sweeny Todd actually was. He actually ended up killing his wife. Accidentally of course. I'll let you see the movie so you can figure that one out. Anyways, I just thought that I would bring this up. Soem people really are demon possed!
An Evaluation of Sweeny Todd... Not Just the Movie but the Man as Well!

I found Burton's movie a poor representation of the actual musical. After seeing the Broadway revival twice, and performing as Johanna, I found the movie visually entertaining, but the singing was horrible! I'd give brownie points to Johnny Depp, but that's about it. Overall, I was quite disappointed.
