When I go to college, what am I going to be feasting on?
I can see myself frequently eating:
Banquet TV Dinners (They're a dollar)
Spaghetti
Ramen (17 cents oh!)
EDAMAME (so delicious)
Pizza
Pizza Bagels
Mac+Cheese
Rice
My dad used to make this weird stuff called chicken catchatori (sp?). It's not bad but I'm not a huge fan.
But will I get ambitious from time to time and actually cook?
If any of you have gone to college, what did you survive off of? I'm going to need ideas for when I go this summer ^_^

At first, I set aside like a couple hours every sunday to cook. I made up lots of chicken, in a variety of ways (some fried, some sauted, some with taco seasoning), and used that to make salads, burritos (chicken, cheese, beans, and some spanish rice you can get from Lipton), and wraps (lettuce, cheese and chicken). I would also fry up a couple pounds of hamburger, rinse and drain it, then put it in freezer bags and put them in the freezer. So, when you want something like hamburger helper or tacos, it's really quick to make. I made up a bunch of pizza crusts too... simple dough recipe of a cup of water, a package of yeast, a little bit of sugar and oil, and enough flour to make it elastic. I'd shape it into crusts and bake it just until it started to turn light brown, then wrapped it in tin foil and put it in my fridge. For sauce, I used tomato sauce and italian seasoning, and just put a cheese blend on top. I'm a big cooking person, though, so these might not work as well for you as they did for me.

You've got it down with the edamame. With all the ramen you'll be consuming, you'll really need that protein in your diet (trust me, I know this from experience)... but make sure you buy the stuff from asian grocery stores. You can find it at your local american grocery store, but it's usually very overpriced. If you get it at an asian market, you can find bags of it frozen for $2 a pop... I work in a japanese restaurant, and I buy the same brand my restaurant does. It's incredibly inexpensive. Happy studying!
Meat loaf is quite the cheap dinner. As is tuna mac. And chicken is a versatile cheap food.
But you're picky.
And aren't I cooking for you in college?
