at my high school of only 1,500 i c just in my path of walking about 4 -5 girls pregnant... and mostly sophmores... it kinda infuriates me bc... there is not excuse for a girl to get pregnant..... use a condom every time... its that simple. it doesnt ake that long to stop and put a condom on....
not all condoms r latex especially now bc of the whole excuse" i'm allergic to latex "
if the condoms breaks (which some ppl claim is what happened) it will be like a rubberband snapping inside ur body... so u can feel it. unless there was a hole in the condom which is highly unlikely.. but possible...
most girls who keep their babies... do not go to college to get a better job which is ALMOST required in the economy now.
90% of teenageboys who r products of adolescent pregnancies go to juvinile hall...(when a father is not present)
70% of daughters of eadolescent pregnancies become pregnat at a very young age themselves.
a human baby is born weak... the weakest baby of all mammals bc biologically it requires a mother AND a father to take care of them....
most teen pregnancies, the father does not stay around and the mother is left to raise the child.
the "pulling out" method does not work bc there is pre-ejaculation where the girl can get pregnant.
only using birth control does not work everytime either bc a girl has to take the birth control (if orally, and for some birth control) for 3 months at the same time every day straight in order for the pill to be at its utmost effectiveness.
80% of homeless families are headed by single mothers
also when young girls are pregnant it shows others especially adults how much they don't respect themselves bc they have had sex at such a young age.
---at middle school in my town a 12 year old is pregnant!
its getting worse and worse every year and there is no real excuse but the lack of responsibility.
maybe parents need to talk about sex more with parents... and schools should discuss abstinence AND safe sex.. but they don't need to hand out condoms bc even 10 year olds know where to get condoms...
to save them from a life changing event all girls and guys have to do is put on a condom.. and if they dont have one... DONT HAVE SEX..
we have our whole lives to have sex... y rush just bc ur "in the mood"
u have a conscious, u can stop urself if it isnt safe.
plus, having sex without a condom also means higher risk of a STD... and STD can have a negative effect on the developing baby..
it's just strange to me to c kids having kids...
they rn't mateur enough to have sex bc they rn't doing it smart, so how can they raise a baby properly?
i am pro-choice... but i would not have an abortion... i respect girls who put their babies up for adoption bc they r giving the baby a chance to have a life where the parents are prepared to have a child.
raising a child when a girl is young can produce major psychological problems on the baby... not all tho but some...
gosh, i just don't understand y teenagers just can't THINK about what they r doing... we know what is right and what is wrong, but it seems like we just don't care about the future...
we don't think about the consequences of our actions ne more.....
we r supposed to be leading this country within the next 20-30 years... but how can we set an example if 12-17 year olds are getting pregnant?
some more facts:
Almost 1 million teens in the U.S. get pregnant each year.
20% of graduating senior girls will have been pregnant at least once before graduation.
Only one out of every three teenage parents graduate from high school.
80% of teen mothers end up on welfare.
Teenage girls who are sexually active are 6 times more likely to attempt suicide.
Teenage boys who are sexually active are 5 times more likely to use alcohol and marijuana.
3 million teens each year contract at least one STD -- that's one teen every 10 seconds.
One out of every two (50%) people who are sexually active will catch H.P.V. (Human Papiloma Virus), which can cause genital warts, cervical cancer, and can lead to death.
One out of every four (25%) teenagers who are sexually active will catch Chlamydia, and over half of them will never have any symptoms. If left untreated, these people my never able to have children.
There is no cure for H.P.V., Herpes, and HIV.
Condoms will protect you from some STSs, but not from all of them! Ex: H.P.V
66% of teen pregnancies occur when alcohol is involved.

i just want to know one thing WHY do girls let themselves get pregnant?!

A lot of birth control pill types are effective after 1 month of consistent usage, you don't have to wait 3 months. But it is best to use two types of birth control every time, like the pill and a condom.

I wasn't going to comment... but I just want to address a few things:
1. i am NOT a pregnant or teen mother
2. each & every ethnicity have different lifestyles; they bear children at different times
3. sex is a normal experience that many teens do, whether or not they are in love or whatever
4.. the unexpected is still a great gift
5. why criticize someone for something they have done?
6. (in my opinion) God BLESSES you with a child they are not accidents or unplanned everything happens for a reason
7. spell check, and revise because i'm sure you would frown upon a pregnant teen who wrote an essay as poorly as this!
1.) i typed it really fast at night b4 i went to sleep.
2.) not everyone is religious so not everyone will think that god blesses us.
... Wow.
I've never heard the scare tactic about rubber bands snapping inside somebody's vagina before. Do you really think there's something up there where the condom will get stuck and snap you? A-mazing.
In addition, college is not necessary for our economy. Most nurses and mechanics make more money than Liberal Arts college grads.
As a teen I understand. Even though some teens feel uncomfortable getting checked or getting helped there are still several ways to get through it. There is a 1% chance of getting pregnant when using controceptives but that is VERY VERY VERY slim. Nice blog and I agree completely. There is no excuse.
Good use of statistics! You state quite a few facts in your blog, which is essential to a good paper.
