one day?

    If I had one day to make a difference in the world, I would urge each person I encountered to follow Sir Cecil Beaton's words of wisdom: "Be daring.  Be different.  Be impractical.  Be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safe, the creator of the commonplace, and the slaves of the ordinary.”  

        Given only one day to spread this precious advice, I would take it to public high schools, they have potential to inspire masses of individuals.    

          At the high school I’d hang up signs in the hallways with phrases from Sir Beaton’s quote.  Some posters would say, ‘BE DARING’ others would say ‘BE IMPRACTICAL,’ or ‘DO NOT BE A SLAVE TO THE ORDINARY.’  

           I’d also speak to students, using myself as an example of one who has chosen not to ‘play-it-safe’ and has reached goals others only dreamed of.
