Aphorisms to live your life by, in the thoughts of Bynx

A small leak will sink a great ship. (don't do a poor job, don't skip steps or take shortcuts)

He that lives upon hope will die fasting. (it's great to have hope, but dont live upon it. Have hope, but when hope becomes false, continue life.)

Nothing brings more pain than too much pleasure; nothing more bondage than too much freedom. (If you stray from work and spend too much time "enjoying life" it will only bring you pain. ex: taking too much time off work will cause you debt. and dont enjoy your "freedoms" too much, cuz they will only cause you loss of freedom. )

Having been poor is no shame; but being ashamed of it is. (there is no shame in being poor, lots of people live in poverty, but being ashamed of your lifestyle is a shame)

'Tis hard but glorious to be poor and honest. (its hard to be poor but it's a glorious thing if you can live your life being poor, and it's also glorious to be honest, because when you are poor you are most likely to be honest and sincere)

What you would seem to be, be really. (dont be fake. be who you really are, and let people see you for what you really are)

He that lies down with dogs shall rise up with fleas. (if you go out and do things you shouldnt you will wake with things you dont want. if you drink and party all night, you will wake with a hangover)

Wish not so much to live long, but to live well. (if you live to be 103, it wouldnt matter a bit if u didnt enjoy it. for all we know you might live to be only 16, so enjoy life to the fullest and do as much as you can before you can't do anything.)

When there is marriage without love, there will be love without marriage. (don't marry someone you aren't in love with, because then you will stray and love someone you aren't married to.)
Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he will never be disappointed. (dont expect too much because it is human nature to let others down.)

When the well is empty-- they know the worth of water. (basically, you don't know what you've got til it's gone. )

Content makes poor men rich; discontent makes rich men poor. (even if you are poor, being happy makes you the richest man in the world. but when you are rich and discontent, not even money can make you happy, and you feel poor.)

Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all. (being pretty, and muscular, and having lots of money doesnt do anyone any good unless you are good hearted)

Thou cans't not joke an enemy into a friend, but though may'st a friend into an enemy. (watch what you say, if you joke about a friend they may become your enemy, but joking about an enemy will lessen the chance of becoming a friend. i repeat: watch what you say about people)

Time is an herb that cures all disease. (Time, no matter how long, heals all wounds)

Those are all for now. Live by them, lest you forget what you are really living for.
