More than Oprah or even JFK!

Within the last couple of months I
attended a National Honor Society inductee ceremony at my public
school. About 30 kids were being inducted. The NHS Advisor would name
off each student and then tell a little bit about that students
leadership role. She would also read off who each student looked up to
and believed had a significant impact on themself or others in the
world. Who would you have picked for this? Let’s see, would it be
President Roosevelt, Oprah Winfrey, Rosa Parks or someone else famous
like these people? That was who most of the students picked; someone
famous like them. Out of all the students though, there were only two
names that were mentioned twice (all others were mentioned only once).
They were “mother” but this really refered to two different people and
then the pastor of a local church, Pastor Paul was the other person
mentioned twice. Out of all of the leaders that are seen everyday on TV
and in history books, they are only recognized no more than once. This
pastor was stated as a person of greatest influence more than Oprah,
Susan, JFK and many others.

A local pastor has more influence on high schoolers at a public
school than any other big name. WOW! This is the way all people should
be. Ask yourself, are you impacting someone else in a positive way?
This person sure is! You don’t have to be rich or famous to help
someone out, and you don’t even have to be named off more than anyone
else, but why wouldn’t you do all that you can to be a leader for
others the way Pastor Paul was. He isn’t helping people to make money
or so he looks good in front of other people. Even if you only impact
one person, it counts. I’m glad to have hims as the pastor of my
church.–I challenge you to be a Pastor Paul!
