A Soceity of Affluence and DEBT

Did you know more Americans file for bankrupcy than graduate from college?  Scary statistic.  Yet it is the truth.  We have become a nation filled with consumerism.  Now, buying things is an addiction.  Who has the most stuff is a society goal and creates social class determinants.  Our affluence is digging us in a hole... of debt.  Debt is a serious matter taken too lightly in America.  Only 2% of American incomes are saved as compared to 12% of French incomes.  The times are not changing either.  I know as a college student I will graduate with debt, because thats what our society has led me too. It is punishing us for wanting an education with the expectation that we will be able to pay it off with our degree.  But, it is a lot of pressure.  And as you can tell by the statistic in the beginning... it has yet to prove correct.
