will you feel the same way in 9 months?

I have almost gotten to the point where i am hesitant to watch the news. Shocking stories of teenage pregancy are everywhere you look. They're in the local paper, online, in your school newspaper, even on tv.

What is running through the minds of our young women as they help increase the percentage of teenage girls that drop out because they become mothers? More than that i would like to know what was going throught the minds of those 17 high school girls who all decided to get pregnant together. By a show of hands who else is curious? Its still a mystery to people who KNEW the girls.

By deciding to have children while WE are still children, we are throwing away our own dreams. The pregnant girl in your history class wanted to be a model. What do you think her chances are now? What about the football player that just got a full ride to a major divison 1 school but cant go because he has 2 kids? Maybe this person is you. Dont go and do anything drastic like go and get an abortion. If you voluntarily had sex with the father of your child, you need to take that responsibility to heart. If you havent gotten pregnant but youre sleepin around...do you realize what youre puttin on the chopping block should you become pregnant? There goes your future career...free time with your friends...college opportunities...and not to mention your health. When your parents were teenagers there were maybe 3 STDs out there and they could be fixed with a shot. Now...scientists are disovering more and more at an alarming rate. Good luck getting rid of these new ones with just penicillin.

THE CHOICES THAT YOU MAKE ALWAYS INVOLVE OTHER PEOPLE WHETHER YOU WANT TO BELIEVE THAT OR NOT. THINK ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE TO OFFER TO THE WORLD AND JUST MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS =]

As I have stated in many other blogs about teen pregnancy I find that it IS mainly the parents fault. I never had a child and my mom was strict, this saved me. She was there for me, she talked to me. This is what is lacking in society today. Parents want to make money and provide for their children rather than shower them with love. Making money is fine but I would rather provide more love and time than money for my children.
