I was sitting in Math class today and my friends I have known since the crib was really angry with this boy in her civics class. They were watching a movie about Gay marriage. Now my friend happens to be a lesbian. This boy sitting behind her was comparing gay people to terrorists. She was so mad how ignorant this boy was and it was making me mad just hearing it. He was ranting how all gay people need to die and how they all should be lines up and shot. I was discusted. I mean what has gay people ever done wrong?? They just have a different preferance than straight people do... big woop. I like boys she likes girls. Is it hurting anyone? Will it hurt you if they were to get married? No i dont think so. Why deny someone happiness.... it makes me sad knowing that my friend will not be able to get married for a very long time because of people like that boy who as so intolerant so naive... I can understand it is against your religion, but not everyone is your religion in this world and it is not like you yourself are gay. Just let them be happy they are human to and they deserve that same happiness and benefits that we straight people do. I am sick and tired of watching a lot of my friends be treated wrongly and getting yelled at for something they can not help. Plus can anyone even give a good arguement why they should not be allowed to get married? No i didnt think so...

I certainly don't think that there is any reason that same-sex couples should not be allowed to marry. But I do think that each state will have to make gay marriage legal individually, at first, because some of those Red States (or just Bible Belt ones) will not be keen on gay marriage.

I don't personally have anything against being gay in general, but I think it is the gay stereotype that people don't like. I personally dislike many of the gay people I know, not because they are gay, but because they are in your face "omg!!" all the time. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but the reason that they bother me is because they are more girly than most girls I know. And I doubt that they are being true to themselves, and are more likely just falling into the stereotype of what a gay person is thought to be like.
Before I write any further: I have absolutely nothing against people being gay/lesbian. It should be a personal.
But...I think one of the reasons people oppose gay marriage is because marriage may include benefits such as lower taxes. For example, "Married filing jointly" allows one to deduct combined expenses. The government wants more taxes, of course.
Just a thought.

in my family i have plenty of gay and lesbian cousins. i really dont see the difference between being gay\lesbian or straight. i mean, besides sexually. but we all have hearts and feelings and some people abuse them without thinking twice. it really makes us as straight people look horrible and embarassing to ourselves. we are judging people based on their likes which we shouldnt. everyone is different and its all about your mind and soul not who youre kissing or not kissing. people jhuss wont leave this issue alone. everyone has the right to speak freely, dress freely, and LOVE freely. geez, why cant we all geht along ?
