Where I live we have a new law that prohibits people from wearing sagging pants. I am so relieved to finally not have to see someone’s underwear when I leave my house. Many times boys would wear their pants underneath their butt and you could see their boxers because their pants were so low. Boys weren’t the only ones targeted. Girls are not allowed to show their underwear or too much stomach. Several people in my community were against the sagging pants law because they said that it targeted African-Americans. They also believed that it violated their freedom. Although I think that in a way it does violate freedom, I am glad to know that the next time I leave my house more people will be dressed. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4963512/

While I think that's a good idea, I think it is a violation of our rights. A major violation. I'd be surprised if it lasts.

lol yeah, I agree. It's like the smoking ban... I love that I don't have to sit in a restaurant or a bowling alley and inhale the second hand smoke, but it is kind of a violation of rights. Ha. Guess I can't complain because I do like the rule :)

This is so funny. This is like having a dress code for your town. It is a great idea but like kay said a major breach of rights and kind of stupid. If you want people to wear clothes probably take it up with the parents or just ask. If they say no they have the right. That is like asking someone not to wear a sweater over their shirt because you feel it that its too hot for the sweater. Nonsense!

That law's just funny, I don't care who you are. And how does it really affect you? Are you walking around town with your pants down past your ass? Do you know where that trend comes from? It comes from prison where the inmates wear their pants low to help them get a boyfriend. It's like a billboard. ;-) if you know what I mean.

Mmhmm. So now we pay our police to go around and do what parents can't do? I think it's stupid. And fundamentally flawed as well. Who defines how much is too much to show? And what about basketball shorts underneath jeans? That's not underwear, and I could go out in the basketball shorts by themselves and be fine. Why are they suddenly a problem when I'm wearing my jeans over them?
I'm okay with that rule! I do not enjoy seeing anyone's underwear, male or female. It's not attractive & is disgusting when you see past underwear to butt cleavage!
However, I do wonder why they are passing laws on dress code while there are massive drug & violence issues in our country. Will pants held at the waist solve all of our problems?
