I think that music videos from ALL types of music are having a bad effect on all people. Even the once, conservative look in country videos have gotten thrown out the window in recent years. I understand that sex sells but I think the line has been crossed and something needs to be done about this issue.
Women are being displayed in such a horrid way that I can't for the life of me understand why they would let themselves be shown in that light...no matter how much money is involved.
Even though I am offended by what appears in music videos today I will say that I also feel that it is the parent's responsibility to monitor what is on the television at home. I just feel bad for the children who have parents who do not care what they are watching and have to be subject to this...dare I say junk.
Think about it people....
Why haven't we had a woman president yet?
Well..maybe it is because that woman who once had all of those dreams of helping out country is now giving a lap dance half naked in a music video.

Its strange that in ones writings how much you can learn from that person. I have such a familiar view of what this entry is on, but the thing that made me think the most was the question... why is it horrible to grow older? My thoughts on that, it is harder for women to acccept getting older, in my opinion, because more and more men put pressure on wives and girlfriends etc to look younger and be younger. What happened to the good ol days when women and men got married and stayed together. The divorce rate now is so much higher and I think the media and music videos have really put a notch up on that aspect.
Although there has always been divorce and such, the rates now have sky rocketed compared to back when.
Its scary to think that maybe one day it will be expected to be marrried more than once....
I sometimes wonder the same thing. A friend and i were discussing this a few months ago and it really made me give it a lot of thought.
I don't think anyone can argue that things have dramatically changed over the last century but why? As you said, these girls probably didn't dream of being degraded or judged as a youth so why the change?
I think we can agree that it was society, however, that is so general. Really, we should ask who/what caused society to change so dramatically? I personally believe that the entertainment industry is to blame. I doubt that producers in the early days ever dreamed of what we see on television on a daily basis, but i do believe it was the root source.
