This Is Real Life

Maybe you enjoy watching your favorite contestant on American Idol. You faithfully watch and vote for him or her every week. Maybe you enjoyed watching someone eat bugs or disgusting animal parts on Fear Factor. People have been pushed to their physical and mental limit, but nothing like this.
I have just finished watching an episode on The Moment of Truth that was devestating. For those that don't know, the contestant was previously hooked up to a polygraph; on the show they must answer a question honestly and with each level the questions get harder, but they win more money. All you have to do is be honest. Sounds easy enough? Just telling the truth? Not really.
This lady, like every other person who has been on the show not only risked her current job, but her relationships with everyone she knew: her parents, siblings, and most of all her husband. Questions like "Did you have sex with anyone besides your huband after you got married?" or "Do you think that you were in love with a former boyfriend on your wedding day?" appeared. A surprise guest, an ex boyfriend was on the show asking, "If I wanted you to get back together with me, would you leave your husband?" Luckly, that one was ended by the sound of a buzzer and replaced with a new question: " Do you think I'm the guy you should be married to?".
Is this entertainment? This girl was throwing her life away with these questions. The audience clapped as she answered "yes" to each of the above questions.
We are so used to seeing shows with couples that break up over issues like infidelity that we forget that it happens in real life. This is reality, not just a game show. I watched as this girl went on throughout the game and finally got one wrong. "Do you think you're a good person?" Her husband shook his head no. She said she did; just like that the game ended.
Is it really worth what you're going to have to deal with later on to win or in her case lose? Some go through the game, sharing personal secrets that no one knows and with one wrong answer they lose their relationships and leave with no money.

I honestly don't believe that truth show. My one favorite reality show is John and Kate plus 8 because it truly is real, and documents their lives with a set of twins and set of sextuplets. It is real, and I like it. Moment of Truth just seems so ridiculous that I can't believe it.

Après la pluie le beau temps.

I saw this episode. Hollywood has no idea what they are doing to these couples.

I also saw an article about this couple and they said they defined cheating as emotional, too, and thats how she answered that question. She also said she was confused on the who should she be married to one.
