Venezuela has forced U.S. cartoon "The Simpsons" off its airwaves, calling the show a potentially bad influence on children, and filled its morning slot with reruns of the beach-and-bikini show "Baywatch."
We need to follow in the footsteps of Venezuela, America, and pull the SIMPSONS from the air. It clearly teaches children to misbehave...just look at Bart Simpson...not to mention the horrible example it sets for the husbands of our nation through Homer Simpson. It's no wonder the US has such a high divorce rate. Venezuela I commend you for your bold decision on removing Simpson from your airwaves...but even more so I commend you for REPLACING IT WITH BAYWATCH:HAWAII!!!!!
Of all the shows you could have replaced it with you chose one that would teach your nation's daughters to run around the beach in red bikini's...increased eating disorders are a small price to pay for the economic boost Venezuela will receive from increased tourism. Good call. Everyone will want to go to Venezuela now. Had you kept the Simpsons, the nation's children would be painting themselves yellow just like the many Americans who do the same thing (with spray-tans). What's more, all the children at the beach will know how to save people...another genius economic move to attract tourism: tourists will feel safer in the water knowing that the children of Venezuela have been nurtured on Baywatch.
Once again Venezuela, I commend you. Pure Genius.

i also think the simpsons are bad but I think that people should have the freedom to watch it or not and to let their children watch it or not. It's ultimatelly the adults responsibility and decision.
The problem is not the television show it is the parents. The parents should tell their children that Bart Simpson might be funny but not something to imitate. However we don't, we just set our children in front of the television screen so that it can be a segregate baby sister.
just fyi this was a satire. I'm not really saying anything except pointing out the absurdity of Baywatch being better for kids than Simpsons. That's like saying America's next top model is more educational than American idol when in reality neither is particularly educational in any way, nor does it matter because like you said, its not the television show.
Great stuff. You got a laugh out of me when you talked of Venezuelan kids painting themselves yellow. I'm wondering who made this decision. Does Hugo Chavez have something against the Simpson's?
