Think as well as act

Authority is taking over.
The man's law is what goes down. No questions asked.
It is against all common sense to question.
Some would say that we are headed towards an actual dystopia.
One of those things described in one of those books you never believed.
Some of those would say that television is to blame.
I used to be one of those people. Those television haters.
Until recently.
Yes, I still believe that television is partly the cause of this mess.
Don't think it's a mess?
Compare America 1990 with America 2008.
Quite a difference.
Yet television hasn't gotten much larger since it became available.

So what is the cause?
I say that this is the collapse of humanity.
A modest thing to propose...that all of our morals, as humans, are falling apart.
Strength in numbers?
Before, that meant that, if a big, mean outside animal were to attack someone, the rest would assist to bring down the animal, saving each others' lives mutually.
But now? It means that if one of us starts acting out, the others will call the cops on him.
Put that horrible thing in its place.
Mental hospital/correctional facility>low paying job>street>dead.
Don't say that he will become a better person>house2.5kidswifedogcar.
You know that it doesn't happen.

So where is this decline in humanity coming from?
You have to have seen it.
Nobody even talks to each other. Most avoid eye contact.
You can ask someone a direct question, and they might just walk away very fast.
"'Scuse me lady, have you seen a grey dog, very small, 13 pounds-lady?"
Can't picture that happening?
Then you are the 'weird' one here.
Why are we so unwilling to help each other out?
Apparently, we just don't know how.
How do you fix a man?
Screw it, the cops will sort him out. Just whip out your cellular name-tag.

Man, we are taking the smallest differences, and using them as excuses to turn from each other.
Why all the eagerness?
Honestly, I have no idea how we are turning from each other so fast.
Maybe because the world is getting bigger, and there is an idea that, since you will never see that guy again, that you shouldn't have to be humane to him.
But then, why wouldn't I be humane to someone who I will never see again?

Someone, or something, bigger than us is turning us away from us.
I'm not saying we should fight.
I'm saying that we should not give in.

Let's stop calling the cops on each other when we don't actually need help.
And let's not give others reason to call the cops on us.

The simplest things:
Do not do unto others as you would not have them do unto you.(Confucius)
Maybe they knew that, if it were taught in schools, the children would not listen.

Humanity. Every little bit makes a difference.

I think that people have percieved differences that causes them to feel "distant" from other people. They think that someone with darker skin, a bigger waistline, or different clothes is a threat, but in reality all of the parties mentioned are just humans. We have to show people that we aren't as different as everyone thinks if we want to bring back the humanity.

haha, that reminds me of something I learned in D.A.R.E....how to identify a gangster.
baggy overalls, right or left strap off the shoulder, parallel to the leg that is rolled up and the shoelace that is untied. Also, the hat off to one side...haha the list goes on

Haha! Did they seriously teach you that? It's funny how they don't mention that a lot of drug dealers have real jobs and are functioning members of society as well.

lol they teach you to turn in people who you know that are dealing drugs...from wikipedia:

In addition, "D.A.R.E. officers are instructed to put a 'D.A.R.E. Box' in every classroom, into which students may drop 'drug information' or questions under the pretense of anonymity. Officers are instructed that if a student 'makes a disclosure related to drug use,' the officer should report the information to further authorities, both school and police. This apparently applies whether the 'drug use' was legal or illegal, harmless or harmful. In a number of communities around the country, students have been enlisted by the D.A.R.E. officer as informants against their parents."[33]

As a result, "children sometimes confide the names of people they suspect are illegally using drugs. A mother and father in Caroline County, Maryland, were jailed for 30 days after their daughter informed a police D.A.R.E. instructor that her parents had marijuana plants in their home, according to a story in The Washington Post in January 1993. The Wall Street Journal reported in 1992 that ‘In two recent cases in Boston, children who had tipped police stepped out of their homes carrying D.A.R.E. diplomas as police arrived to arrest their parents.’ In 1991, 10-year-old Joaquin Herrera of Englewood, Colorado, phoned 911, announced, ‘I'm a D.A.R.E. kid’ and summoned police to his house to discover a couple of ounces of marijuana hidden in a bookshelf, according to the Rocky Mountain News. The boy sat outside his parents' home in a police patrol car while the police searched the home and arrested the parents. The policeman assigned to the boy's school commended the boy's action."[34]

soooo creepy how they work...

That is creepy....the creepiest part is the "legal" and "harmless" part. The last thing I want is a bunch of police officers raiding my house because I have prescriptions in my cabinet.
