When school shooting are on the news 24/7 it just makes potential “shooters” want to do it. Believe it or not but the school shooters are pretty much “legends” which will remain in history forever. Everyone knows the two shooters of Columbine (Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold) just because the media pounded it in our heads. The media indirectly promotes school shootings. Their publicity may be the deciding factor for the would-be “shooter”.
If the media would pay more attention to the victims and rescuers rather then the shooters, the publicity factor would be drastically lowered. Why should a shooter be plastered on the news, newspapers, and magazines? They did nothing good at all. That just drives sociopaths to conclude that their only chance of becoming well known is to attack a school.
There are numerous postings of different solutions so please do not mix two different blogs with each other until the conclusive blog. The reason I am posting them separate is because I want to know others opinions about each of these solutions without having any other influences on the other solutions.

The media definately is to blame in a huge part of it.
They are giving the shooters what they want too--publicity and attention.
My son is 4 now. He was born here in my bedroom and I delivered him myself.
He is 97 percentile (BIG KID). I have been teaching him to defend himself and I am proud to say he darn near took me out 2 weeks ago. I was lying in the floor watching TV when he did a surprise attack. The doctor said he bruised my spleen and gave me an umbilical hernia (squashed my guts out of my belly button). I fully intend to help him develop his body strength and he will learn to shoot the same way I learned as a child.
He will learn to respect himself and honor his adults the same as I did. My son will not be a victim nor will he be a bully.
If he is not home schooled and goes to public school he will be aware of his surroundings and will be able to cope with any hostile situation the same as I have learned.
I wish we all lived in a world that was safe and fair but we don’t, we must adapt and deal with the crap we are forced to live with each day. Our societies are in decay and the ones that will survive will be the ones with the skills to overcome. I live in the mountains and I am an accomplished survivalist. My family is safe and my future is secure. How is your future?
