Obama's Plan

I stumbled upon this Associated Press report this morning, and had a quiet chuckle to myself. I beat the media in a story, and no one noticed.

"Costly Campaign Vows Face Reality Check" was the name of the AP news report. I already wrote once about this with my blog "Change We Can Believe In...And Hopefully Afford". Usually blogs are written after columns are written, not the other way around.

But, I guess I have to give the AP credit for taking it another step. They criticized every candidate except Huckabee for their fantasy campaign pledges. Huckabee just wants to do away with all taxes and fund everything off a national sales tax. He's a kook, so we won't write about him.

But, it's nice to have my story validated by the mainstream media. My story included the costly promises and "plans" Obama has for his "Change" campaign. And, I again ask, where will we get the money? "The War!", I've heard people say. "We'll get the money by getting out of Iraq!" Wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. Why don't people get this? Why do people say things when they don't understand the way the budget works? It's an emergency expense, which doesn't fall under the permanent budget of the United States. Obama's plan would hike the cost in almost every single permanent budget area. So, the savings from the Iraq conflict would not be a valid offset to the normal budget.

Obama's plan are just not viable when it comes to the real world. In the real world, we have to have CHANGE ($) to pay for the CHANGE. Campaign promises are well and good for being elected, but once he takes office in January, he'll redo his plan. Count on it.

What do you have ESP or something...lol

Anyway, I agree totally with your last statement
"Campaign promises are well and good for being elected, but once he takes
office in January, he'll redo his plan. Count on it."
It seems like most candidates are big talkers, the question is, are they willing and able to carry out their "plans"?

Oh, I don't doubt their willingness. It's the "able" part that I'm doubting.

Well, I guess we'll just have to see, now won't we...
-hopefully they can be people of integrity and carry out their word.

Bahahaha. I think one of the qualification of a politician is "able to lie"

creative_me's picture

sure, why not... lol
There is probably a lot of politicians who lie for personal gain.

Well, ok, I have to say that I believe most politicians are honorable, and that they really believe that they are serving their country.

Yeah, some are good/honorable, and some are..not so good...
