Okay, so I've been thinking about gossip and the media and whatnots and I thought, does the Media's title give them a higher voice?
For instance, the Rodney King beatings appalled people throughout the country because the media showed it as the police's fault. From what I've heard, it wasn't some "hey look, lets beat the crap out of this black dude". There was a background story that wasn't shared.
9/11 was portrayed as an attack because nobody knew what was going on at the time, there is proof though to show that the attacks may not have been 100% like what the media showed it to be. If a Boeing 737 can create a 16 foot hole in the pentagon without any trace from the wings, I think it's truly amazing. And I'm going to leave it at that because I don't want to get too in depth with my conspiracy thoughts, I'll just say that I'm a Loose Change supporter.
A skater was choked and verbally abused by a police officer in Baltimore and there is video evidence (Youtube keywords: Skater Dude Baltimore Police) to show the skater did nothing wrong but call the officer "dude" and the officer felt disrespected.
The point is, the media does nothing but create bias for people to believe. Conservative media shows things that praise our government, liberal media is against it. Either way, people believe media. People believe what other people tell them. If I could find a way to show that I am knowedgeable about a subject and am 100% confident in it like the news, I could tell you the most rediculous thing in the world and you would believe me. I bet I could find a way to make you believe you are really a hermaphrodite cover up child. Anyway, psychology seems to be in my future.
