Do You Know Who Your Super Delegates Are?

So, Senator Clinton and Senator Obama came out neck to neck in the Super Tuesday election. Obama won more states than Clinton but Clinton won many of the rich delegate states, which left one guessing, who is going to be the democratic nominee for president.

A black man or a white woman, two different historical events for America. Will Senator Obama be the nominee because of his victories in the south, youth group, blue-collar white males, and younger women? Or will it be Senator Clinton, who famous husband, Bill Clinton help recruited old friends (some still in congress) and remind everyone of how great his presidency is and help the feminism movement by being the first female president, she also have popular appear among older women and extremely popular among Hispanic.

So, now lets get with the super delegates. Who are they, what do they do, and do they represent our democratic choices? The super delegates was created after " Democratic leaders felt that sometimes, Democratic voters were choosing poor presidential candidates: campaigners who couldn't win elections, or even if they could, they didn't please Democratic kingmakers.

They made the super delegates: a super class of super Democrats, each of whom could vote at the convention for a candidate of choice -- in effect, giving each of these Democrats the power of tens of thousands of average citizens.

Who are they? Democratic members of Congress (House and Senators), governors, big-shot party members: Bill Clinton, for example (and ex/current democratic President/Vice President. The theory was that the super delegates could help steer the party toward solid, competitive candidates, and away from Monday morning regrets.

There are about 800 of them, and that's a lot when you can win the nomination with only about 2,000 delegates. Hence the controversy. Even though Barack Obama is winning more delegates in actual primaries and caucuses, Hillary Clinton is substantially ahead of him in the overall delegate count because many more super delegates say they will vote for her."

So let put it in simpler form: Lets said you have a Dem representative in the House, a Dem Senator and a Dem governor currently serving in office, that means that all three of them will be making the decisions to who will be the democratic presidential candidate.

Lets said, your district or county went in favor of Barack Obama and your state went in favor of Barack Obama, yet your democratic representative in the house had made a pledge to support Hillary Clinton, which means that even though you voted for Barack Obama, your Dem Rep will be the one who would be nominating Hillary Clinton as the next democratic president.

You -> Vote Barack Obama -> Your county/state -> Barack Obama -> Your Democratic Representative/Senator/Governor (super delegate voters) -> Hillary Clinton -> Democratic Presidential candidates (Hillary Clinton).

I thought that we were a democratic republic, for the people, by the people, of the people? Why are the establish elite making the decision on who would be the next president? Do our votes no longer count for anything? How would you feel if you pick Obama/Clinton and your Dem Rep/Senator/Governor voted for the exact opposite? If you want to know who your super delegates is and who he had pledge to vote for, here is a list:

What is a super delegate? Easy. They're the ones who are going to screw the Democratic Party over.

They were instated so that party elites could have more control over the process. It's funny how the Democratic Party wasn't supposed to be the one that conjures up imagery of the smoke-filled rooms with sleazy folks wheeling and dealing our Democracy.

What are they...
Probably the silliest thing in the entire election process. They make the electoral college look fair.

Sorry, the title was driving me insane every time it popped up on my tracking feed, so I changed it. Excellent job with the rest of it, though :-)
