I wanted to see if we could define American Culture...
First, what is the definition of culture? What makes one culture different from another culture?
Ethnocentrism is thinking that our culture is the best...In general, we as Americans believe that our country/culture is the best to live in... Why?
What are some positive aspects of American culture?
What are some negative aspects of American culture?
If you could change one thing about our culture, what would it be?
So back to the beginning...what is American Culture? We may not be able to come up with a concrete definition, but we should be able to at least give some characteristics of American culture.
America has no culture as typically defined. We are a nation of multiple and borrowed cultures. America has a pop culture which revolves around music, fashion, sex, societal norms, and materials. America has no 'real' culture. We are a place where the mixing and matching of cultures is allowed to happen.
