So I guess I am to understand that everyone out there knows exactally what I should blog about, and how I should do it as well. Assuming this is true, why am I here? If it's already all laid out and determined why should I bother?
Blogging is an expression of one's self much like the way you dress or the way you speak. Some people may have more "fashion sense" than others, and some people may have a larger vocabulary than others, but that doesn't matter in the long run. You are expressing you, not what someone else thinks you should be. Of course its fine to tell the person in the pants made entirely out of silver sequins and the puke green shirt that what they're wearing isn't fashionable...but it's only right to tell them nicely. No matter how blatant the offence, you should maintain tact.
The rules and guide lines are there for a reason, so why is it necessary for every blogger and their dog (because we do have a few of those who are doing it) to make a post outlining exactally what they think a blog should or shouldn't be? I'm sort of being a hypocrite here because I am questioning their reasoning behind making such blogs, but at least I'm not saying "NO! DON'T DO IT OR YOU'RE A LOOOOOOOSSSSEEERRRRR" type stuff. At least I'm not making childish digs at other bloggers, and letting them know I'm talking about them. At least I'm not picking on people who don't seem to have a expansive vocabulary. At least I'm trying to play nice, damn it.
You're trying to win a contest and other people aren't living up to your standards of writing. So what? Get over it. You probably aren't going to win anyways. Just have fun with it, and if you happen to win -- bully for you.

If I do so it tends to be jokingly...Or if someone is acting all high and mighty that a good dig at their poor grammar will help to take them down a notch.
Yes, obviously my blog was sparked by something(s) around here, but I'm not TRYING to point any fingers.

Personally, I think that comments should deal more with content than criticizing the writing (even though I know that its totally acceptable to do that). I would much rather know what people think of my topic rather than grading my post. This is a blog, not my english class.

I dont know, becasue if u r going to type like an idiut, AND WRITE IN ALL CAPS DURING THE WHOLE DARN POST, and use punctuation that is not appropriate!!!! MAKING BLOGS THAT LOOK LIKE THE CRAP THAT I AM TYPING ARE FRUSTRATING TO THOSE OF US THAT HAV BRAINS AND EDU-KASHUN?
Seriously, some blogs look like that and it is terrible to a person with a good functioning brain.

I donno. There are the extreme cases, but why does everyone find the need to nit-pick to an insane degree? That's more of what I'm finding, I guess. I haven't even come across any blogs that were written so bad I thought my eyes would bleed. None that I can recall, anyway, so if I can't even remember them it must not be that important.

I didn't mean important in the sense that it doesn't happen, or doesn't happen frequently, I just meant that it must not be that important to be big picture, if I can't even remember a specific one (that is assuming I have come across any)
