Everybody knows about the Holocaust. Ok, ok, way to start your blogging right off the bat with a huge downer. What I'm trying to say here, is that there is still genocide going on today that not everyone knows about. Darfur. It's in the news more these days, and as a result is becoming more fashionable. Sending aid and being concerned about those in Darfur, that is to say. You've probably seen those cute t-shirts that say "Save Darfur", and hopefully if you own one part of the sales went to actually saving Darfur... But there's another fashionable way to save Darfur these days select college campuses across the country: by eating bread. Believe me, eating bread is fashionable. Sure, carbs may be on the naughty list currently, but eating bread is still one of those comfort foods that so many of us can't seem to get enough of. So wait, how can you help save Darfur by stuffing your face? Right. Challah for Hunger. Founded by a bunch of bored college kids (as all of the best things are!), Challah for Hunger is an organization whose members bake tasty tasty challah bread, sell it to hungry college kids, and then send all of their profit to the American Jewish World Service Emergency Appeal for Darfur. This wordy organization uses the money for humanitarian efforts such as helping women and children who have been harmed in Darfur. Ok, so if you haven't figured out how awesome this organization is yet, let me spell it out again: you get to help people by eating amazing bread. Whoa.

Sounds really cool . .. I'll have to buy some. I'm always trying to find ways to help with Darfur. It's just disgusting what's going on over there and yet it seems that most of our country doesn't even care or really do anything.

Too bad there isn't a chapter anywhere remotely near me.
