All across the world, the remnants of our parents generation are beginning to fall down. We have seen the progress ourselves, the change is undeniable. Their generation has been through a lot, but the time has come for us to take over.
As we learn to deal with our new responsibilites as we enter the "real" world, its vital that we all keep our heads. I emplore everyone to go out and get involved with their community, get involved with your church, YMCA, local charity, your school...it doesn't really matter, but everyone should provide for their community. I have seen the troubles that plauge countries that have recently been failing. A lot can be said for the fact that their people wander around, almost like nomads. They have no love for each other, or for their country, no matter how much they claim the otherwise.
It is our love for each other in places like the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Italy that have kept us together through the good times and the bad. This is our time now, and we must make sure that progress continues to be made.
In the United States, I see us falling back into the trap of racism and hate. Slowly but surely, people are beginning to "see" the color of others skin more and more. Even with the recent election, you see some that are beginning to vote for a candidate merely based on his skin color, or her gender. This upsets me deeply.
It is vital that if we truly want to make a difference, no matter where we are, we must be educated. Not only on our own issues, but the issues of our neighbors. It is time to stop caring about only yourself. The world needs you, and it is your time to step up.
I see some people on this site saying that they will drop out of school to pursue music full time, and other things like that. I can't respect those decisions. Stay in school. Don't be part of the problem.
And vote, always vote. Thats the only way you can make things happen in your own countries.
If we can all stop seeing color, or gender, nationality, there can be peace at some point in the near future.
It is our time, let's turn all of our rhetoric into action.
