Good book?

anyone know of a good book to read. as of recent i have not been able to find any interesting books that will pull me in. every since i started high school i have lost interest in reading. i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good book that would be interesting enough. to where i would actually want to read it instead of falling asleep lol last good book i read was the third book of the Harry Potter series and ever since then i have not been able to find a book that intrigues me as much. i tried reading the fourth book and it just bore me for an some odd reason... I am a guy so preferably a book that does not have too much of a feminine plot to it. I have read some books in high school through mandatory means but none caught my attention in any special way. Currently I am reading Mice and Men by John Steinback, it is somewhat interesting but the genre of the book is not to my taste very much. So if anyone has a good suggestion please feel free to a comment I would greatly appreciate it.

Check out the Between The Lines column!

There's some books there you can read about, see if you might find them interesting.

J. D. Salinger is my personal hero. I'd suggest that you read The Catcher in the Rye or Franny and Zooey. Steinbeck also wrote a spectacular novel called The Winter of Our Discontent.

Also, if you dig poetry, E. E. Cummings is pretty special.

Words are my bloodstream. I'd love to talk books with you sometime. :)

I know this may seem strange but if you ever do anything for a random stranger IN YOUR LIFE, please, p-l-e-a-s-e read Gods Debris. It is a revolutionary new genre of book, I think he made the first, and it is called a thought experiment. This book has literaly change my perception of reality, or at least, allowed me to look past my perception to see others as well. It's amazing and I would feel honored to know that you took my advise in this. I'm sorry for the outburst of emotion but I feel really strongly about this particular piece of literature.
sincerly,
locke

Are there any other books you have enjoyed reading in the past besides Harry Potter? There are so many people from different backgrounds who love Harry Potter, so it is difficult to make recommendations based on that one series.

You could also tell us which books you have NOT liked. That would help us make recommendations.

I'm in the same boat as you, trying to find good books to read. I just googled good books that you should read before college. I'm also a fan of the show Gilmore Girls where on of the characters Rory reads a lot so I found her booklist. Just google some stuff. If you want my 2 book lists email me.
