Coalition for Good Blogging

So, I have an idea :)

I know, I know; It doesn't happen often. And generally, when it does happen, it means a whole lot more work for me.

But, hear me out... There are several blogs tagged with "Coalition for Good Blogging"; but what does this tag really mean?

I'll tell you what it should mean. This should mean that the blog written with this tag is written with the full intent of helping to promote good blog writing: formatting, spelling, content, grammar, and etc.

The problem is, not very many people can see these blogs. They're hidden through months of other blogs, are generally rated low (because honestly, who wants to see a blog all about how to write a good blog in the highest rated list?) and we just can't continue to repeat ourselves.

But, the fact remains, people are joining this site everyday. So they need this advice. Maybe they've blogged before--at myspace or facebook; but let's face it - this site is very different from either site.

We offer more interaction than blogger, and better intelligence than MySpace... What a combination!

So, here's my plan -- I want to build a true "Coalition for Good Blogging" - But I am going to need some help.

Most of the members of this group will be bloggers on Progressive U who wish to help, but still want to be eligible for the Blogging For Progress Scholarship. But, this will be a somewhat selective group to join.

To be eligible, you must show high activity, a comprehensive understanding of Progressive U's TOS, official rules, FAQ, and Editorial Policies. Members of this new group will receive some bonus points towards the Blogging For Progress Scholarship contest dependant on their level of participation with the group.

Basic expectations will include the following:

  • Ability to post advice on blogging and blogging format.
  • Editing services...(edit blogs posted by other members for basic grammar and spelling)
  • Flagging Blogs, Forum Topics, and comments for review.
  • Members of this new group will not be moderators or members of the A-Team; However, they need to portray these skills so they can help everyone to reach their true potential.

So many times I have come across a blog that could have been good if it had been spelled correctly; others can't figure out how to gain or build a readership. This is what the coalition is being formed to help -- to help you reach your blogging and ProU potential, and to give you advice on how to reach that scholarship.

For more information, please feel free to PM me. :)

Or, you can email me at FanaileEssence@progressiveu.org

I'd really like to volunteer... but dude, I'm already doing NaNo, ProU NaNo, and apparently the debate squad, all while trying to keep with with ProU and homework!!!

Is there any time I can steal and add to my day? Because if so, I'd love to write a big pretty letter about how well I write and edit and so on and so forth...

    Yeah.

    :)

"Is there any time I can steal and add to my day?" - What an interesting concept...I guess we can only enjoy one extra hour during day lights saving time.

Muahaha I joined this too anyway. I wonder if I'm getting involved too much (is that even possible?). But I can step away if there's someone else who REALLY want to get involved as well. I feel guilty sometimes for trying to do so many things and taking seats away from other members who are not as active to be apart of something with Progressive U...

There isn't going to be any limit to the number of people who can join, and no participation requirements; So you don't have to worry about taking space up :)
