Youth Violence

So i have noticed youth and gang violence is becoming a bigger issue every day and a bigger problem in our society. Honestly i do understnad why teens get themselves involved in gangs because my exboyfriend was involved, and people dont join gangs to kill people. Ususally its because there are problems at home or at school. Ususally its because they arent accepted at home and the teen is just looking for a place to belong. Whether people know it or not we ALL want to belong somewhere and that is the number one reason why teens join gangs. I think that these people though really dont know what they are getting themselves into though. My exboyfriend sure didn't and when the person realizes that it is a wrong way to go there is no way out. It's just interesting because the people that i have known that are in gang prevention groups always say get out of it right away dont stay in the gang, but the hard part isn't joining a gang its trying to get out. Most gangs that i know of will turn on you if you decided to get out of their gang because they think of it as turning your back against them and soon the people that you thought were your boys..your girls...or even your family will soon become your worst enemy if you try to leave. I hope that someone soon tries to figure something out because too many people's lives have been taken away because of this and my exboyfriend was one of them....because he was trying to make the right decision.
