I saw someone talking about highschool kids not doing what they need to do and i just wanted to give some advice . . . .

If your a junior/senior you NEED! to find what colleges you want to go to, scholarships, grants, federal aid, ect . . . I know im telling you what EVERYONE tells you but when i was a senior i partied and didnt think i needed to do anything of the sorts . . . . Well i got accepted to Notre Dame and guess what $48,000 i had to pay myself well after the first semester i found out i could have gotten over 150K in grants, scholarships, and student aid . . . . For those of you saying you dont need the money . . . i dont either my dad makes enough for me to go to harvard every semester until i die . . . . but its free money and your will be helping a lot of your family out by doing this it takes moments of your time and that is it and everyone is willing to help you fill the paper work out . . . . by your senior year i give you the advice you should have your college picked out applied there. . . . you should also TRY to get all the scholarships and grants you can get even if you have to write a paper i mean come on 2 pieces of paper and an hour of your time for $500 that is worth it . I didnt do any of it and im in the 4th semester of college and im just now doing fasfa . . . its really hard to get scholarships/loans when your this far into college. They offer double if not triple the amount of scholarships/grants/loans for 1st year students. Oh another tip make a high grade on your SAT's and ACT'S and your will get more and colleges are more likely to over look bad attendence and grades trust me i ha VERY VERY VERY VERY bad attendence and i had a couple low C's but i made a 29 on my ACT'S which is 2 points from perfect and Notre Dame and other ivy league schools accepted me no problem :) have fun and if you need help or advice ask me

I totally wish that I would have done all I could to get scholarships when I first went to college. Especially since I partied and messed around because at the time I felt like I was forced to be there. Now I'm stuck with having to pay all that money back, and I didn't get anything out of the year that I had wasted. This year however, I took the initiative to apply for as many scholarships as I could and decded that free money is a good thing. In short, I just wish that I would have followed this advice when I was a senior in high school.

Your lucky that paying for college isn't an issue, but its cool that you realize what you should have done your junior and senior year.
