Please, don't eat the manatees. Please, don't hurt the manatees. Please, don't kill the manatees. Manatees are endangered mammals that live in the sea. They are also called Sea Cows. Some historians believe that because the Manatees have a corpulent body that resembles a human silhouette, seamen that sailed to our lands, before the discovery of the new world by Christopher Columbus, thought that they were mermaids.

Manatees are as harmless as dolphins, you could say. If we don't do something, one day these animals may die out. Some ecologists think that as other species begin to disappear, we could follow (see Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.) The fact of the matter is: the atmosphere that we have now would kill the Dinosaurs. They had methane and other gases; we have mostly Nitrogen, Oxygen and other gases. Our present atmosphere is one of several that the world has had. I once viewed a documentary where the scientists theorised that the white rhinocerous might be unfit to live in the present atmosphere, thus die out.

We don't have as many Manatees as we used to have; they are an endangered species. Zoologists try to find ways to help animals that are endangered to reproduce using conventional and nonconventional means. But, like the Pandas, We have not been able to help Manatees reproduce fast enough. You may want to help solve the problem by becoming a Zoologist or inventor.

Manatees were hunted for their meat by natives of the Americas, but there are still parts of the world that contribute to this senseless killing. Also, we can not forget that the blades from boats cut into these "Mermaids of The New World" which leads to mutilation and early death.
