Has anyone considered the possibility that a God actually may have created this universe, and this world in particular just to see what happens when you let a bunch of mini-gods breed? And that He (please excuse the capital H) either doesn't interact with us, or does so minimally just to keep us from boring Him or self-destructing? I find that much more likely than the idea that He dictated the Bible (Koran, whatever), or that minds evolved from dirt.
Of course He would have to be one evil Bastard unless there's an afterlife in which everyone gets exactly what he deserves. I find that morally justifiable, whereas the idea that some guys get eternal happiness and others get eternal torment appears morally unjustifiable. It's even less justifiable if rewards and punishments are based on what you believe, as opposed to what you do.
And seriously folks, it's either justice or nihilism. If the best thieves get the best deal and that's the end of it, then whatever created this s*** is worthy of every curse we can throw at it.

I definitely agree with you! I really do enjoy your description of it as well. I am actually doing a project on Nihilism that I was about to being research on and I randomly chose your blog to read. I definitely agree with your interpretation of the "It's even less justifiable if rewards and punishments are based on what you believe, as opposed to what you do." Seriously, I think you have just become my newest best friend!
What!? Your whole argument is based on fallacies. None of us deserves to go to heaven. We've all done really bad things. It is a sign of God's love that He would care enough to allow his son to be killed so that we could have the opportunity to escape the damnation that we have chosen, at one point or another. And because none of us is capable of perfection or goodness on our own, the concept of salvation due to belief is more "justifiable" than being saved by good works.
