Ok, anyone can simply turn on the TV and hear the poor reports regarding our economy and the Fed. slashing interest rates. The liberal media informs us daily of the grave state of our economy and the usual scape-goat is the housing market. For some reason millions of Americans accept this information as truth. Is it, seriously? There are so many important events occuring and the media chooses to air stories about celebrities rather than truly relevant information.
America is not truly free. Our perception of the security of the all-powerful security and safety of the United States is an illusion. China owns us. We are deeply in debt to them. Every American makes inadvertently makes his or her own contribution to this problem on a daily basis. For example, let's take a look at this economic stimulus package. Citizens who paid taxes last year will receive checks for $300, $600, or $1200. America's current debt is over $9 trillion dollars. This begs the question, where is the money coming from. The answer, we are borrowing it from China. In reality, this program will be a huge success. We will definitely stimulate the economy--the only problem is that it won't be ours. Most Americans will take their checks and use them to purchase low-cost Chinese electronic items. Who am I kidding? I, too, would absolutely love a new HDTV or a PS3. Do you see the connection? We are using the borrowed money to purchase goods from our creditor.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, but it's getting kind of late right now so I'll continue this blog tomorrow...

One major problem that I have with this theory is that the Chinese economy is dependent on our own, not the other way around.
First of all - I can tell you first-hand, having witnessed suicides, meltdowns, layoffs and bankruptcies skyrocket in my industry the last few months.... the housing market is in a horrible horrible state. That doesn't just suck for those that own homes --- it affects everyone that knows an architect, plumber, electrician, builder, real estate agent or (my favorite) a kitchen designer.
Second of all - if you're so concerned, DON'T buy the Chinese TV. Everyone should be so concerned.
Third - we may owe them money, but our market is not dependent on China. It's the other way around. If, for example, every red-blooded American bought TV's with a red, white and blue sticker in two months, China would be a-hurtin... because they DEPEND on us to buy their cheap(ly made) stuff.

Both are right. In this small new world where the market is flooded with multinationals, most major national economies are interdependent with ::gasp:: Other major national economies! China has been buying into our country for years now. Its how they can get away with all that they do. Well, that and being one of only 5 countries with vetoing power on the Security Council at the UN.
But either way, I don't think that this will much impact our own security, especially not to the extreme of threatening our freedoms.
Oh, and by the way, I'll be using my extra check to pay off the credit card debt that I've been accruing since I've been trying to sell my house, not to buy cheap crap made in china and shipped by Cosco.
