On Thursady June 21 at Six flags Kentucky Kingdom a tragedy happened. It was nearly 5 in the afternoon as a 13 year old girl decided to ride Superman Tower Of Power. Just like any other guest that day she thought she would enjoy her 177 ft. plummet. As the ride reached the top of the tower the cable snapped, just as they began their free fall the cable swung and caught her legs. When she reached the bottom of the tower it was apparent both of her legs had been torn off. I have revised this into a shorter story, after reading many and watching news videos. I can't explain my sheer horror yet amazment at how something like this could have happend. Being a Six Flags employee at another park this is a story you never want to hear of. Although it happened states away our Superman tower has too been shut down. This is a major crisis that will forever effect society, as word slowly gets out I feel there is less of a crowd at the park. Just one simple incident on a 11 year old ride can effect so many people. Suddenly no one feels safe no matter what ride they are on. Although people don't realize all the safety procautions that we take. They still seem to mock the tragedy while getting on a roller coaster by saying things like " I don't want to die on this thing". Some days just having a simple shutdown for weather people become paranoid and stabbing you with questions about why it was broken. After all it is effecting the enviroment, around the U.S. in every six flags park the is a drop tower ride shut down becoming a waste of money. I wish it could be as simple as it sounds everyday when that 5 year old with luminous eyes askes you when it's gong to be open having never ridden the thrilling ride and you simply tell him not today sweetie. Although some are scared those who are faithful return to short lines and thrilling rides.

We take for granted the power of man-made rides but when any accidents happen there is a full investigation and people are skeptical about going back to the park.
