Unless you live on the moon or something then you know that gas prices are crazy. But really for no reason. For some families its come down to food or gas. We work like crazy to be able to afford gas, just so we can go back to work. It is a cycle of life now days. But where does it end?
My prediction is that our great country is dependent too much on the other countries so when they jack up prices we of course have to. The whole point of the Revolution that our forefathers fought was so that we could be independent. So what has happened? So I think that pretty soon we will either: get taken over by another country or go into another depression. Because we sure cant last very long with our economy the way it is. And nothing in America will be stable again until gas prices are. But I dont see that happening anytime soon.
Everyone tells everyone else that somebody should do something. Well DUH! Someone should but everyone is too afraid that it will hurt them in the long run. And it might. But if it is going to help keep us going why not take the sacrifice? So I am going to take it upon myself to get through high school and college and if we are still America by that time then I am going to risk everything to make sure that things do change. I am soo sick of it that I dont care if it ruins me in the future! But come on people enough is enough. If I have to hunt down the "BIG GUYS" right now and tell them how it is I will!! Because I know that if even the richest people cant afford anything right now then neither can us common peasants.
I dont want my country to go to the pits. I love this country! But seriously its time we started depending on ourselves and not taking advantage of other countries. That is why they all hate us. And they have been around much longer. Lets learn from our mistakes and really take a stand. Even if we have to make a few sacrifices along the way...just remember that all the GREATS have. The people who gave us our constitution and won the Revolution gave themselves..then why cant we? Are we THAT LAZY?
Gas Prices...Our Downfall

Even though oil companies ARE making record profits, our prices are part of the world picture. It isn't just us buying gas and the middle east still needs oil. Supply and demand. increases cost, and when factor in other things- refineries, oil supply, etc- the price goes even higher. It would be great for the oil companies to give us a break, but why would they? Even if taxes were increased for them, we would still be paying it.
The worst part is that fuel costs will eventually stabilize, but it will most likely not go down any lower than it is right now.
What do you suggest our independent strategy be? We definitely need more renewable resources, but that costs a lot of money too, not to mention time.
