A College Life for Me!

My high school counselors really weren't joking when they said that college would be the best and most expensive time of my life. It has really been the best time of my life in regards to all the people that I've met, the professors I've been able to learn from and the free products/services I've managed to procure from my school and all of this done while at a community college. Well my time at community college is slowly coming to end seeing that one can only spend so much time at a "traditional" two year institution while living in their parent's home. Hey, I have to move on sometime. Thus enters the worst part of my college experince...the MONEY(sigh). For the most part I've been spoiled these last two years with my parents' contributions to my education and the money that my one time job provided me. These options could only last so long. My parents have three children to support, two of which are in the long haul for financial support (a semi-permanent nester and a young teen). The recent downfall in the economy brought the down fall of my job. And cutbacks to education by The Governator aren't helping my situation anymore.
I'm trying to get a better future by going to college but the financial setbacks almost make me rethink college...but not enough to acutally do so. No job + parents that make just enough to seem like they're staking but not enough to fund my education fully= how am I supposed to pay? I know what most people will say, finacial aid...I've done that, scholarships...I'm in the process of that, and the good old get a job...oh the options are endles in our stable economy;-). Don't get me wrong I'm not looking for a handout I'm willing to do my share and hold up my part of the bargin. So I will continue my college school hustle of working part-time minimum wage jobs and let go of the finer things in life until I graduate...which is looking like never. I'm majoring in extended college life!

You're not alone. College costs are ridiculous but it'll be worth it in the end so long as we don't keep having presidents who screw up our economy. I don't think the sacrifice should be necessary but I do still find the benefits to outweigh the costs.
